well i'm probably playing with myself but the V5 doesn't load as many of the same plugin as V4.5 on a cb2 magma chassis... more experimentation to do - i'll try winXP/V5/V4.5 driver and watch it explode

yeah you're probably right, but it only takes minutes to test...
indeed the official V5 might be better, but I'm not even sure this is related to SC

simply installing V5 with its driver on XP gives the same performance as V4.5

It won't work because of the input and output mapping, The driver will come up and be registered but the ins and outs won't come up thus no sound, I tried it on Vista With an xp driver ok it comes up and it doesn't crash the computer, but it's no use because you have no sound.
