Hi there,
Am having loads of problems running 3 Scope DSP cards. Always getting error messages saying that the cards cannot "see" each other and are not connected (when they are). I find that twiddling the connector on top of the cards hels sometimes as does taking the cards out of their slots and putting them back in. The motherboard is almost new so it cant be dodgy slots. Anyone else have the same problems?
Many thanks,
Nick.
Scope Cards not "seeing" each other
Re: Scope Cards not "seeing" each other
my guess is either you have a bad cable or the contacts are dirty. touching them once with your fingers is enough to make them flakey. use a good contact dleaner like deoxit or 99% alcohol(NOT rubbing alcohol) to clean.

Dear GaryB
Thanks for the reply. I have tried cleaning all the contacts on the boards with Isopropanyl but I have the same problem. Could the gold have worn down on the contacts?
Many thanks for your help,
Nick.

Did you build the connector wire on your own ?
I did so , but there seems a problem when wires get too long ..

Re: Scope Cards not "seeing" each other
you must clean all connectors, PCI and STDM, male and female. Be meticolous. Sometimes, only for Scope e Pulsar, also connection board must be cleaned!
it works.
your issue is tipical of unclean connections, CW DSP are a lot sensible of this.
Normal issues are randomly: unrecognized cards, blue screens, random DSP load errors, blocked BIOS at PC start.
Try again and let us know.

4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.
Re: Scope Cards not "seeing" each other
IF YOU USE ALCOHOL, IT MUST BE AT LEAST 99% PURE!!! DO NOT USE RUBBING ALCOHOL!
alcohol that is less than 99% pure will leave a film behind.
