Access just release the 64 bit Drivers for their TI series after a long wait. That just leaves me with SCOPE... one to go. With windows 7 being released in a few weeks I really hope they do get round to releasing the new drivers... its becoming increasingly difficult to work in 32bit for me as all the samplers and/or romplers such as Omnisphere are becoming more and more demanding on my machine, and it would really be great to move things to 64. I'm having loads of issues with my Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra PLAY libraries especially.

Dear people on Planet Z,

We are aware of the importance of 64bit drivers and that you use
other programs and plug-ins besides SCOPE that requires 64bit.
It is difficult for us to do the right thing when talking about
development and release dates. The best business practice in my
opinion is to talk clear if we are clear and if we are not clear
to be careful what to say. We cannot confirm a release date of
64bit drivers, but what I may say is that this work is in progress.
and we will have 64 bit in time, probably, more sooner than later.

Many thanks for your patience.

Yours

you could give a try to jBridge: it allows to bridge several 32 bit VSTs to overcome the memory limits. (also allows to run 64 bit plugins in 32 bit hosts and 32 bit plugins in 64 bit hosts)

JBridge is used w/ Kontakt 3.5 & 4.0 and working well. Friends of mine use it on LASS which is a rather large and complex instrument. Also many guys who do not want to go 64bit until a total rewrite of an app is done are using portions of large instruments in 32bit w/ the PAE switch and still hanging in there.
But everyone wants a large template loaded.
I am maxxed out and have customized and reduced instruments so my Live template can fit.
But I cannot add another library/instrument until I buy more RAM and go 64bit.
Since I am not in need of large Orchestral Mock-Ups I am safe for now.
But I do have some large libraries and if I have to have that particular Orchestration I will simply start dragging another 4U DAW around w/ another PAE Switch and use 32bit.

I've found that Live has a notoriously large footprint for DAWs. On my system I hit the ceiling at 1.6G project size, which although has a lot of channels, has very few plugins. Compared to what I get out of Samplitude, it's quite a difference. Hopefully Live 8.1 will have improved memory management.

Low-footprint/overhead apps such as Cantabile or even VSThost are perfectly suited for live performance work, and leave room for the big overhead plugs (and some extra routing for use with Scope).

Twice now Holger has updated all of us on the status of future releases.
It is a good thing... :)

Mr. Holger speaks clearly.
He said: work in progress and sooner than later.

Good.

I have scope cards for so long...

Thank you Mr. Holger.

Something occasionally mentioned here and bears keeping in mind still, along with 64bit (and maybe OSX?) and Xite, they're also busily trying to make the Solaris buyers happy (having done the hardware side of that too.) Honesty may not make for the best marketing, but it's nice to know Holger just handing out empty promises.

this is really my only holdback as well.... well... besides XTC mode in Scope 5. I am really curious as to the progress to this and what is in store for XTC.

It's been a month since Holger's last statement. Is there any news to report on the status of the 64 bit Vista/Windows 7 drivers? I'd really, _really_ like to use my Scope cards with Windows 7.... In that case I'd need new keys for Scope 5 as well. I've sent Sonic Core my allkeys file a couple of weeks ago but I've yet to recieve the new Scope 5 keys so even if SC released 64 bit Scopre 5 drivers I wouldn't be able to use them without new keys...

Which email did you use when you sent your keys?

I know I am a Scoundrel at times, but I always get fast replies from developers when I put RE: Soniccore XITE-1 purchase.
I haven't had to resort to this with S|C but with all others, the possible ongoing discussion of cash usually gets attention.....
It does wonders @ YamaBerg...

I apologise for not putting this in the Tips & Tricks thread, but some folks might find use from it in the whiner threads too... :D
