We can all agree this was a great moment in history. I will be just as happy when we abolish our states. We have virtual walls you can see on maps but not from satellite images.

Indeed, though, aside from some economic fallout (for west germany for instance, by having to integrate the eastern side which wasn't left very economically rich imo) it was a great moment in modern history. In the US most of the 'fall' was played exclusively over NPR, when it was a fresh and vibrant news source. Playing ham radio communications over NPR for about 8-10 months before the 'fall' of the wall, I recall sitting around most evenings listening to things long before there was much coverage in mainstream media.
