Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
just wanted to tell you that i have been testing a new scope 5 version with working vdat, and xtc/vstim mode working right from the installation ( no need to do the scope 5 xtc tweaks) - xtc mode still needs alot of work... works just like 4.5, though you cant make the mixers etc pop up when you load your daw.. they are interested in a new kind of xtc mode.

Man I feel so in the air about the new features. drop scope pro!? wait for scope 5 xtc?! wait for 64bit drivers? build a new pc with a new interface and connect the 2? buy a new mobo to get rid of my scope woes?!
honestly I wish i had about 20Gs to start fresh lol

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
you just had a case that the card didn't fit in. that motherboard will work.
it's all just tools. it's not about computers and features, it's about tools to make music. obviously, you have to use the tools that work best, within your budget. vst, hardware or hybrid, a compressor is still a compressor.

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
true. actually the card will fit in the other slots I just gotta rig it to work (gotta tear apart my current wiring scheme for my hard drives because the card gets in the way of the sata cables)
I scoped out this thread
http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php ... 5k#p219241
and the conclusion was, drop the board pretty much
but he had 3 cards
thats why I wish I just knew what slot was best for it haha.
Right now if you look at the pic on his screenshots where one card is sharing irq 16 (with jmicron, graphics etc) thats where mine is at right now as well. I really think its the raid array thats causing my issues more than anything, but configuring the system to work by disabling things is where I need help. I never had issues on the last machine cuz i didnt use acpi but now I do so I gotta rerig it.
I have to disable from the bios but im not sure where to start
the only time I have problems is with certain plugins causing asio max outs in cubase (the cpu maxes because of the asio driver) and its only with nexus and artsacoustic reverb (coincidence? they both use the same reverb algorithm)
also I am not sure if everyone has this issue but in xtc mode synths create a midi loop that causes the system to freeze when automated or any heavy midi data. I am not sure if this is because of my irq issue or just xtc mode in general with a quad core setup.

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
its an xtc bug... the midi overload thingie..
When you start up your daw (cubase whatever), press ctrl+alt+del and right click on cubase and go to the lowest option and click it (forgot the name), then disable all cores except the first one.
This means that you can only have one core running when you use xtc mode. Pretty lame, but i'm sure SC will fix it someday.

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
there IS a new xtc mode being developed. we'll see what happens.
bLinD, when you are ready, we can speak by phone or skype and i'd be happy to help you with disabling and configuring things. if you don't really need raid, i'd eliminate it...
