PS/2 USB Adapters

Post by dawman »

I was unaware of this but these Chinese Y adapters have small lithium batteries in their relay connection.
I have tossed out a nice 1U Keyboard w/ 4 x Port KVM switcher for this cheaper 1U drawer, when I was unaware of the adapter issue.
I was just about ready to ditch the newest one which is a year old and an IT buddy told me I was a Pendajo.....
Just bought a new one and the 1U works perfectly well now.
I have been yelling at my DAW like the Geico caveman for a month.
Now I know I was a moron.
Just in case anyone ever uses these, they last a little over a year. I also realize why external powered adapters and hubs are the way to go......

hi JV,

do you know, by any chance, if all of these adapters share that "feature"?
I have 2 (probabyle chinse makes, because they were about 2 or 3 € each) but since I did not use the dp35dp as intended (I have the dp43tf which has ps/2 connectors) I gave one to a friend and the other rottens in the shelf...
can yours be opened for battery replacement? mine doesn't look like it was possible...

I'm sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
