I case it went un-noticed: Creamware came to the conclusion that there is a problem with dual CPU boards. They (Ingo) do not know how to get them working and ask for help on their own forum. So, if anyone can answer their question (there are some around here that got it working), we may get a working platform on dual CPU's.

I'd like to contribute, but I don't get any further on http://www.creamware.de than the homepage, forums or other stuff won't work. Image

Supersaw, what motherboard did you end up using for your system?

Speaking of dual mobo's. I'm waiting in the wings. When will p4 3Ghz expect to ship? I think I'll upgrade again then and have the all powerful machine. I love to dream about such things. This changing world is a wonderful place.

LHong- I've got the P4dc6+ here and it's a great mobo, but Pulsar does still have fits with it.

Ohmelas- 3ghz is on the roadmap for this fall I believe, at least from Intel. I'd assume it's going to be met with the equivalent Athlon Xp.

If you're inquiring about duals, no dual p4 yet and the only company that seems interested in that unlicensed territory is VIA again, so who knows how that will perform.

As for dual Xeons, they're great but still pricey.

Btw, if you're holding out, the time is almost perfect to pick up a new P4 system. They're about to make the move to a 533mhz fsb (from 400 right now) running with DDR ram.

I've also read things about the possibility of an L1 & L2 cache increase as well. That's a bit further down the roadmap but it's nice to know that if you get one of the new 533mhz fsb mobo's you'll have a nice upgrade path still.

This fall it is then. My 1.5 should hold out till then. I seem to upgrade everytime they double when they double.

3Ghz and a superfast FSB? Have I died and gone to heaven or is capitolism just THE sh$%?
