A couple more Xite questions

Gigastudio is dead, but it was the first 64bit host for 3rd party apps & cross platform. Then taSCAM 86'd it a month after I updated. But old apps never dies, they just fade away...........General Douglas MacArthur @ West Point 1953.
Gigastudio and GVI sound better because of their streaming algo owned by Conexant, pattented by Rockwell. I still use GVI but Gigastudio 2.5 is my prefferred app of choice. It doesn't use the CPU much and just never crashes, streams like a mofo all night long.
Garritan bought up Gigastudio but nothing happening yet there.
As soon as Giga starting kissing VST ass and using a dongle it lost it's appeal to many users. But still, many showrooms and studios are getting plenty of use with it.

Scope's MIDI is cool, and SpaceF's MIDI CC devices attached to pedals is the bomb.
If you ever want to see how I use the B2003 and synth and effects parameters live , I would be happy to share. I keep both hands on the keyboard, and have taken the spring out of the PBend on my 88. I use the PBend and ModWheel for static faders now.
You will freak when you see how far one can take MIDI in Scope.
It doesn't seem to be popular with the single track at a time guys, but when recording or performing many tracks I have control very similar to what a sequencer could do if a show were to be automated.

When you bought your Xite-1, was the power adaptor with a rating specific to your country? Or was it universal that could work with 220v as well as 110v?

Like an idiot, I forgot to specify that I need a European adaoptor when I ordered it from an American dealer

It's a 100-240v, like a notebook power supply worse case you'll have to buy the cord from the outlet to the block

I didn't know that Garritan bought Gigastudio! BTW have you looked at the Linux Sampler? It's an open source sampler (also compatible with Windows) that allows you to load Gigasampler files.

Good to know about Scope's MIDI. I plan to make different type of templates on the Lemur - mixing, synth editing, effects editing, etc. Please, show me how you set up your controller setup! I'm always interested to see how other people do things, I might pick up a few ideas I wouldn't have thought of before. Thanks

I use KS88's.
They are disposable and their controls are way beyond most others. Muting all controllers and snapshots are used on the fly, so the software doesn't jump.
Theur action sucks but so does every controller I ever played. Guys are always acting like stiff action reminds them of a Piano, maybe so, but then does that same action trigger various sample layers..??? NOT. They all get 6-7 at best, so paying another 700 bucks for perfect action is excellent brainwashing by the developers. Most keyboard players can play whatever is available. If it is just Piano though, the FP Wood keybeds from Fatar of Italy are the best.......at what I am not sure, but I suppose it's heavy so it's gotta be good....

SpaceF's MIDI stuff has spoiled me. I have a tough time playing my buddy's Motif because it has hardly any sounds worth a damn, and there are no controls compared to Scope.
I am sick when it comes to this stuff, so between me and a couple of other guys here, you will ba able to design your controllers to do what YOU wish, not some chump from Roland or Yamaha's idea of controls. Jeez those guys always have their faders placed wrong, polarity issues w/ pedals.....aarrggg.

That's some setup there. Do you pack up at the end of the night do you leave your stuff there for the next gig? How long is your set?

I don't play live anymore, I just have my little home studio. I don't like all the wire clutter of numerous pedals. The Remote SL is okay for most things, although I don't use Automap anymore as I mentioned above. I also use an Alphatrack for controlling my DAW and a NI Kore 2 controller which is great and is replacing my SL for general plugin control duties. I can't wait to get my teeth into the Lemur for setting up control surfaces EXACTLY how I want them.

Yeah I pack up everynight and it sucks.
If there is some really hot, fine trim with a room I have a chain and tip security a SawBuck for keeping their eyes peeled...
Actually I use 2 x controllers, a 16U, and the wooden pedalboard that has a hinged lid. I rent a room to a Carpenter so it looks pretty nifty.
If that giant new Russian Casino is American owned or managed I might come and play there just to see the area. The money is no biggie. The couple times I went to the Med or Redding , England the pay sucked, but the free food and drink, and people made it more than a steal.
From what I can tell the USA leads insales, with Russia taking a strong second, France and Germany are a close third. No Eskimos yet, but I hear the Ice Road Truckers charge too much....

You'll enjoy Russia if you have an adventurous spirit. There's lots of things here to piss you off if you are an expat but if you see it all as an experience you'd love it. I'm not sure about American owned. Mafia owned, definitely so perhaps some Russian mafia family who knows American mafia family can get you in

Why operate where the Police can actually arrest you. Over here, you just need a lawyer w/ a name like Goldstein, Shapiro or Silverbagel and you'll never see a cell.
But even then the Russian guys here who escort the ladies to high roller rooms love American jails. Hell your choice of Peanut Butter Creamy or Crunchy, cable tv, and the guards come by and ask if everything is O.K...
You just have to make sure you operate across State lines and commit Federal crimes. State and local penalties mean state prison where you have cell mates and lots of guys who like big butts..

I did a gig with a Heavy Metal band that was real popular in the late '80's.
There's like 100,000 people at Redding outdoor shows. All of those containers full of Urine and screaming rockers.
Then again played Europe 2 years after that and got stuck at Heathrow for 14 hours.
Ended up spending the night w/ a Roadie who had a crib by all of these Kings and Queens named resevoirs in a little town called Claydgate I believe. I really like seeing old small streets and buildings. Hell I get excited at US cities that are 200 years old, but in England, you guys still have Roman walls standing...
Always wanted to see Stonehenge but we were raced around and guys were scared to drive on the opposite side of the road...
