Ok here the story. I was givin a 6DSP (Pulsar v2) souncard. I have vista so I needed Scope V5. I bought the update. The software was installed. Keys were imported in. So the program opens up fine. But my computer acts like it has no sound, with a red x on the speaker in the task bar. I looked in the device manager and it says the card is working fine. Im not really even sure what this card does. All i want is it to work with Ableton Live 8.
Thanks for any help u can give!! I dont think this will be the last of my questions!!!

Re: BIG NOOB...need help with V5 Install and 6DSP (Pulsar v2)
first i would check to see which sound card is the default sound card device in windows control panel...if you have on board sound, or may be a soundblaster ilk card...check that first...and welcome to the Sonic Core family...btw...I had the same prob w/ my card when i bought it too.....good luck...hope it helps...

Alright, thanks for the suggestion. I got the red x to go away, but i stil get no sound. The sound im trying to get is out of the audio jack port if that means anything. Maybe someone could please tell me the setting i need to put in ableton and in windows control panel. Thanks a million!!!

Hey !
Just a quick question :
Do you know how to connect and use modules in scope environment, to get the sound from the card ?
Best,

Yes you need to know the basics of a Scope project. To get you started in the Scope window you need to drag and drop:
Hardware IOs>Pulsar2>Analog Dest
this will get you a module in the window called 'Analog Dest'. This is the analogue output of the Pulsar2 connected to your monitoring.
Next, drag and drop:
Software IOs>ASIO2 Float Source
you will now see a module labelled 'ASIO2-Flt Source 64'.
Hover the cursor over the left output of the ASIO source, a cross appears, click - then position your cursor over the left input of the analogue destination module until you get a cross then click. You should now have a virtual cable connecting the two. Repeat the above procedure for the right channel. You're good to go. Launch Abelton. Always load Scope first before Ableton so that the ASIO modules are loaded.
Eventually you'll realise there's much more you can do in the Scope environment (add synths, effect, buss ASIO outputs from Ableton to a mixer in Scope etc.) but for now that should get you a sound.
