Vector Bowls

Hiya, for a co-op meditation CD release this winter I had to handle lots of tibetan and other bowl sounds.
One of the recordings were made from a 60x90 cm beast and sounds in the result something between a gong and horn,
awesome.

To build a a carpet or backing for one track of the CD, I built a 8x8 modular patch. It takes eight bowls as audio inputs and spread them through the panorama. I add the combination of a quad xfade module with the FleXor XY elastic module.
LFOs modulate the X Y axis on the elastics and gives me great fade paths through the bowl sounds. Finally one more LFO modulates the LFO rates slowly.
