What do i have to do? change motherboard?

well. i get these crackling soundas when using wavs and softsynths. and it really works like shit... ub think the card be busted somehow?
i bought it 4 months old from a music-shop
and i have had problems with it from day one.
the retailers for pulsar here in sweden says that the card should not sound like it does.
but if it works for other ppl so i guess the card is busted

I really doubt the card is 'busted.' You have one of those tricky motherboards that takes a good deal of tweaking to get running smoothly... I can't be of more help, since I don't own that board, but maybe other ECS board owners can share info, take notice especially of the slot numbers to use, already posted here.
There is currently a new bios available, with PCI/IRQ settings for ECS K7S5A at http://forum.ocworkbench.com/ocwbcgi/ul ... forum&f=27
I found this, once I owned a k7s5a -> http://www.808.dk/pics/k7s5a_resource.gif I had those crackles too. I sold me k7s5a and bought an Asus tusl2-c and a celatin 1000MHz, that goes to 1333 no problem with the boxed cooler. No more crackles.
