I used to use GPO.. wasn't too impressed with the sound, but it was usable, and got me through a couple video projects. Cool. Now K2's bundled "mini" VSL strings can sound better, and be easier to control.. Just wondering what your goto strings lib is at the moment. Stuff is expensive!
I don't really care to pay 3k just to get articulations I won't ever use. I'm talking just for regular, "let's put some silky stuff over the album" sort of thing. I mean, there could be a strings only section or two, but it doesn't have to be able to "render" a perfect version of (put a snobbish classic piece here).
My guess is.. still quantum leap's lib?
the orchestral lib for the moment
Re: the orchestral lib for the moment
Here's a free Orchestral ( Classical ) Nylon Guitar just in case you need one.
The full model has some excellent authentic slides, etc. But for finger pickin' and pedal noise ( when you release sustain ), this is a Sore Dick Deal.
There are some Piano peices that sound great using this.
Albeniz has some fantastic Guitar and Piano pieces. He was an excellent perfromer. Rarely can I sit and listen to a soloist, but this performers recordings are incredible. I would have paid 500 USD to sit near him live. I actually have to record 2 tracks and use Clock to Click and VDAT to pull off one of his peices.
Debussey's Pour Le Piano sounds like it was written for Classical Guitar, and some of his works from Arabesque Suite and Snowflakes Are Dancing can be transcribed also.
Unfortunately at my gigs, Jimmy Page, Kansas and Blind Faith's Wasted, And Can't Find My Way Home are what I am payed to play...........I need the money..
