I finally decided to upgrade my SFP 4.0 and the only thing I use on the damn board (that is XTC mode) doesn't work, yet. Maybe soon.
I just hope guyz from S/C get it together.
It is still an excellent card, even with 4.0, but I'm tempted by the new plugins. I always wanted a decent compressor for XTC.
Holdin' on to my money 'till XTC works as intended.
It is going to be a long hot summer. I'm hoping to spend it with SCOPE 5. 8)

If someone wanna try SCOPE 5 RC in XTC mode try that workaround :

Edit:
http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php ... 11#p247311

It works!

:D
Have a go with that: apparently, if you find the right way to do it, it works.

Is it possible that I have 4.0 but use SFP4.5? Cause I use it and it works, I just downloaded it and it starts everyday. Maybe it is because I have all the extra plugins that 4.5 offers but I dont have 4.5...this is strange, my current card I bought used and it seems it hase everything 4.5 has, but with 4.0 SFP...

And now I have to pay for the upgrade?

Are there somewhere listed the exact differences between 4.0 and 4.5?

cheers

the difference between 4.0 and 4.5 is the package of devices. 4.5 will work with 4.0 keys, but you won't get all the devices. as to the upgrade price, it's not strange, unfortunately. you just have to pay if you never had 4.5 keys.

there is a new release up on ftp (build 2609), in case you didn't notice... ;)
xite software was updated to 2609 as well.

ah yes, and a sample player v5 and the spl td v5 are there, too.

the19thbear,
that's quite unlikely for such a subversion update. it would flood support@sc, and they'd have to distribute all new keys to all testers.
more has been done with less

I just installed the 2609 version. At some point, I was asked if I wanted to repair or uninstall. I choose repair. I don't know, if this was the right thing to do. I quick comparizon (only looking in the folder, which had a new size) I found 6 new files in the app/sys folder.

Excellent. Immanuel goes where nightscope fears to tread. :)

Anything remotely exciting in there thus far?

I only use parts of the system. For the minuttes I have had my simple default project running with my drivers and a couple of modular synths as "mixers" and control stations, I have not noticed anything.

I am always leary about upgrading, but I have screwed myself so well in the past I decided to think, and take the proper steps.
First thing I noticed was many, many DSP files had recent dates instead of the ( yawn, yawn ) usual November 2008.
After everything I loaded up my heaviest project, which was at the brink of DSP overloads even though it says 50% on the meter.
To make a long story short I was already a FAT BASTARD, and now I am extremely obese.
SInce I noticed a 100% improvement right off the bat, I saved everything and now I am going after my long lost loves...............QWave, MultiSynth, FP106C, MB4-II, FB5 and Flexor III monstrousisties.
This is an excellent update for XITE-1, can anyone else confirm this.
I guess I could wait until this weekend when you schmucks turn 'em back on again.......

You are right. My little fast "test" apparently was too fast.
