Project Studio

Post by fraz »

Hi there,

I thought I'd pop in here for some friendly advice.... .....As I'm having some refurb work done at home I'm considering doing out one of the downstairs rooms for a project studio. The room is just about big enough 8'8" X 9'8" to give a rough idea and would be a control room and live room in one -

The company I've initially approached is Total Acoustic Solutions UK who seem to use a firm of consultants Acoustic Surveillance And Testing Ltd for their testing etc....

My idea was for a more professional set up within the constrains of a small-ish room - The most basic idea is to just setup the gear on an office table and go from there - This is what has been done up until now, though, with refurb etc.... I thought it may be a good idea to set the room up properly. I'm in the UK so what other companies are there that would do this??? -

Some folks may do this themselves taking a DIY approach to home / project studio design but I'm not really well up enough on how to go about it - As always I'm looking forward to some good advice etc........... :D ........Thanks in advance..........

if you check there are some companies that if you send them a sketch of your room and what you are doing with it, they'll send back to you what you need (their products of course) to treat your room.

Be sure to put your daw machines out of that room. it's not difficult and believe me there is no silent pc that is not captured by a condenser mic or disturbing your ear work. You won't regret the effort. That way you can also run them with fans partying for a really cool operation.
