In other words a model of a Virtual Analog............OMG...........
What are these kids these days thinking of.
Hey it must be selling.
But I wonder if it has the 2048 presets or 96 voices.....

I could just see a studio where the drums and bass just finished recording and the producer says break out the Virus.......But we don't have one,..we have the model of the model.

Reminds me of a film crew when the director asks for a cup of coffee. The order has to be passed through various stages.
The director tells the producer, who leans over to tell the Assistant, who then tells the assistant to the assistant.........

Thank our lucky stars we have the real models of the Analogs instead of a model of a model...
How can one fall for this?
They didn't even have scientists in white coats in a video either.
Guys using this ( supposedly ) are using 8 core Macs............
I pray the XITE-1 starts a new trend back to sanity where 2TB libraries and 8 core DAW's are exposed for the sheer scam they really are..

Exists for years.When i was in collage we booked the big PT icon studio and loaded it in pt hd7(its about the same as poco)...was great fun and it sounds really good.But hey...we were shooting sausages off linked fader groups on the icon aswell.....fun times.

Virus uses the same motorola dsps as PT & PoCo (I believe?) so this is a direct port that was done first for Pro Tools and then later taken to PowerCore. I think there were 2 versions of it over time, one based off of the Virus A and one based off the Virus B rack (which isn't the same as a full B) though only the latter may have materialized on PoCo. I seem to recall the first PT version was baby blue instead of red as well...but my memory may be impaired

Yeah I rememebr when friends were telling me to stay away from Scope and look at PoCo & UAD.
I remember then one of the 2 had a synth w/ 1 voice polyphony.
You're kidding me I said...............I ain't even going to give it a listen.
Glad to see they got the poly thing solved.
I can't help it to think I'm getting old when I see Models of a Virtual Analog, my God time has really flied by.............It seems like yesterday I put 3 Grand as a down payment on a CS80 as if it were a car, and now I can buy one from Arturia that sounds exactly like the real thing for 150 bucks.....
Well according to the pro's in the synth forums.
Our SDK guys should go work for PoCo and give 'em a hand......

I've got it on my PoCo. It's one of my main synths since years...
Only the virus was the reason to buy a PoCo...

I do love the sound of the Powercore Virus. The Powercore Novation VStation is quite a nice sounding plugin aswell - but each VStation takes up a whole DSP!!! Infact, I really do like a lot of Powercore plugins:- DynamicEQ, Filtroid, Sony plugins, ChorusDelay, MasterX5, Powercore 01, Assimilator, D-Coder, the inValve range, NonLin2 are all faves of mine.

Have you heard of the Dark Hour banks for the Powercore Virus olase? I bought them from eBay recently and they are a great set of sounds which I find usefull as starting points for creating my own sounds (as they are not covered in loads of effects and have minimal modulation settings). This is the native VStation plugin which only has a low pass filter. To my ears it's an average sounding plugin at best with no special features. Rather superceded by current plugins. The Powercore VStation also has Band Pass and High Pass filters and, to my ears, definately sounds "better" in that it is not as thin and harsh sounding as it's native version. I think the Powercore VStation is up there in terms of sound quality with the best native plugins currently avaialble but lacks many of their features to make it truly standout.
