Okay, with all the problems with MSVCRT.DLL & BASE.DLL, Anyone of you had an Illegal Page Fault on WXVC.DLL?
I installed the Library Updates from Microsoft.com to fix the MSVCRT.DLL, now this.... Any one else getting this error?
Thanks!

The thing is, why is Pulsar running great on XP and not on 98SE? That's what's getting me. Pulsar/3DAT should be working fine on my 98SE as those are the only applications I have on that OS. Pulsar is running great on a non-tweaked XP and then some (network, Office 2K Pro, other misc. apps)....
Peculiar...

Everything ran smoothly when I turned my computer on, first thing this morning... I replaced the Pulsar Mixer with Big Mixer last night and set it as the startup/default to start things off. Not sure if this did the trick as some of the folks here are having those error with the Pulsar Mixer...

Z-stat: I had similar problems to you; random crashes in base.dll etc but worse. (honest!)
I took these steps.
Removed NIC; I think the-dlink that you have is a pci bus hogger btw! As it uses a generic realtek chipset. I have tested varios nic's for stability, I ended up just doing without one.
i also removed 128mb of generic ram, leaving 512mb of generic ram.
Having generic ram is bad enough mixing different makes of generic ram is worse.
You can tell my system was not built for pulsar, I intend to fix this soon!
Also you can obtain reference drivers for your graphics chipset here
http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/powered.html This will help solve any grahpics related problems.
Lowering the agp speed to 1 or 2x this will improve stability since you don't need the speed hike for music.
In the bios disable bios shadowing, cacheing, and video shadowing &cacheing.
If you have any agressive memory settings in the bios try putting these down to more conservative settings.
I also unplugged my dvd drive and a spare hdd (I suspect my psu may be slightly underpowered.)
I disabled Usb (via), but your board should be stable but you can try disabling it.
I did all the above, and the result; not a page fault in a week of continous usage whereas before windows98se was totally unusable. And we are talking about a via chipset here!!!!
If you have the option to remove scsi I would try this if all else fails
As you can gather you need the minimum possible configuration, for pulsar, if it is stable, you can consider adding stuff again.

Thanks for the tip y'all, thanks Remix! I'll check it out. Actually, the D-Link NIC is disabled in Win98SE and not taking any resources at all. I only use it with XP Pro. And Pulsar 3.01 works fine with XP with all I have in there. For some reason, 3.01 is unstable with a very clean/lean Win98SE, on the same hardware configuration...
This morning here's what I got.. (Win98SE)
Illegal Operations on:
- pebasic.dll
- dceml.dll
- <unknown> page fault...
Besides the usual msvcrt & base files...
Then, I set the Vcache Min & Max to 16384 from 65536. So far, after a few dozen reboots, exits, or whatever, it seem that it's working fine now... we'll see.
I'll keep you posted...
Thanks again!
Skoal!
[ADDENDUM]
I've disabled everything that I don't need in BIOS. the 98SE host has no extra agents, components that will impede any audio apps. The only thing I have to do left is reinstall 98SE without the ACPI. Perhaps, re position the SCSI and Pulsar on different slots so I can reassign differnt IRQ's on each.
But, so far, after a few more dozen reboots, startups, exits, tripleDAT/Pulsar seem to be doing fine now after fixing the VCache down to 16384. I hope this is the needle in the haystack I've been looking for....
Further testings in progress....

Mr. E F!
That was my mistake the first time I did a dual boot on my system. When I was installing Pulsar on XP Pro, I didn't realise that the install defaulted back to C:. When I found that out, I reinstalled them in their proper, self-contained OS Directories.
Also, after a few more reboots, start-ups, exits, and such, those dreaded messages haven't showed themselves. Seems to be running 110% now.... So far.....
Much obliged, again!
