V5 problem "driver not properly installed"

Post by pwhitmaker »

First I installed Scope 5 and it worked fine except that everytime I started the computer I got those two messages:

Image Image

To get rid of those messages I tried to uninstall 4.5.
But that ended up with that 5.0 doesent work!
When I try to start 5.0 those two messages comes up and the software dont start at all.

Now i have tried to unistall both 4.5 and 5.0 and reinstall both softwares from the beginning but it doesent help. 4.5 works fine but 5.0 dont.

I have also tried to delete the automatic SFP start up in regedit as soemone said in another thread.

When I do the installation of 5.0 the installer says that the drivers are OK for both my Pulsar and my Pulsar2.

Any ideas what to do more?

the messages were v4 Scope trying to start. unchecking SFP in the startup tab in msconfig would have stopped that.

anyway, the best thing would be to copy the Scope folders and rename the copies to something like xxxSCOPE_4.5(that way you don't lose any info) and then unistall the software and trash the remaining original Scope folders. turn off the machine. remove the card(s). restart the computer. turn off the computer. reinstall the card(s). restart the computer. the computer should ask for the driver for the new hardware. decide whether you want to use 4.5 or 5.0 and then install the proper driver and software.

that should fix it..

Thanks for your answer.

Hmm, remove the cards is a hell of a job for me becuase the computer is so "built in".
Is there another way to "remove" the drivers?

you could try to remove cards in device manager (drivers) and reboot, then install drivers back,

i didn't have any problems, cause, first i un-install scope 4.5, remove entries from msconfig-startup, cleaned registry too (manually) and then fresh install of scope 5,
the only thing was , locate driver for Luna II in device manager, while scope 5 setup recognize drivers
for my 2 Pulsar XTC and not for Luna II, so i was manually install scope 5 driver for Luna II (device manager),

you have problems cause you were messing with both versions of scope, just a thought....

hope you're gonna fix soon,

I deleted the cards in the "device mananger" instead of remove the card physically and it worked! :)
So now Im happy again! :D

thanks matej, I saw that you suggested this also!
