They bought a M7, then sold the IR's, then Casey from Bricasti reminded them of the law, so they blessed us with the freebies, which are good, well because one must consider the source material.
Funny how Altiverb is awful nervous from these...........

Indeed.Good thing is i can use these on my nvidia card with the ir verb from nils schneider.No cpu required and i can load < than 50 big impulses on a 8800gts with 320 mb ddr3 onboard.

They dont work with the GPU native reverb i just tried it.

The sad thing about IRs based on hardware reverbs is that they don't actually capture the full extent of the sound of the hardware. So, with the likes of these free M7 IRs, you're getting people saying - 'holy shit, these IRs are amazing, probably my best IRs', then in their next gushing of piffle saying 'I must say though, if these are anything to go by, I'm now put off the M7'. Stupid, stupid people.

But hey they're free...
I can actually see them being used as SFX on doors closing, footsteps and other Foley work where the listener is more focused on the visual aspects of a B or C production.
They remind me of the ring tones on cell phones of the older phones that we had on walls with curly cables, etc. While the cell phone sound works and gives me a jpeg of an old phone on the 1" LCD, I only need to hear the real phone ring to snap me back into reality...

Need to be stereo.But if you convert them they do work.Not sure how it affects the sound but it does sound good to me.

you would think, to display all the power of the GPU he could have made a proper reverb
i just have fun loading random sounds, or other sounds which are part of the tune for different effects.

Rahm Emanual is really trying to watch the budget and actually had these IR's on President Obama's speech yesterday.
I thought it was Spubase 5.0's IR/Convo/Reverb thingy...but after using a spectrum analyzer I came to the conclusion Obama was using the Bricasti M7 IR's.
The 12 second tails were a dead give away....

It was a staged speech as usual, but his Hollywood advisors are really quite thorough. Even though there were nothing but the production crew, Secret Service personal and his staff, he was looking side to side as if there were a large audience......

Actually I am starting to hear IR's in movies and many commercials lately.

Remember the Mel Gibson movie Conspiracy Theories ? ( Produced and directed by GaryB ... )
Mel Gibson was talking to Julie Roberts throught the vents, and then singing " You're Too Good To Be True " ..?
Definately some top shelf IR's there's too.
I can see them being very sucessful in Foley work like that.

Well.....that would pretty much be anything that has ever come out of that poisonous, collagen filled, sewer hole of hers..Make sure to add 10x the IR normally required my brotha' Then it will probably sound like Godzilla..
