TC Electronics : Not correct.
UA : Forgot to mentioned that they used Pentium 3 for development of the first plugins for the UAD-1. 1176LN used around 70% of a Pentium 3 800MHz which equals 134 instances of 1176LN on a Core i7-920 at full peak - you could probably have 20% of that power for plugins = 30 instances of the 1176LN including OS and DAW.
