CAN CONTROL - new plugin for Scope - need beta testers
CAN CONTROL - new plugin for Scope - need beta testers
Hi all,
I'm looking for beta testers for a new Scope plugin called CAN CONTROL which is a headphone monitoring aid. Ideally, I need as many people as possible with different types of headphones & monitor speakers to test the plugin & also send me their own specific presets with details of which headphones & monitors the presets are for. This way it will be released very well tested with a set of useful 'starting point' presets. I'm still working on the user interface, but please send me a Private Message or put your name here on this thread if you're willing to take part.
best regards,
~Mark

Ankyu..................
I use some pretty high end IEM's that are 3 way stereo, I would love to see the imaging possibilities.
Can I hook up SpaceF's CC2 to it?..
Any m4a's............

Re: CAN CONTROL - new plugin for Scope - need beta testers
I was listening to the demo Paradox mp3's on my Mackie HR824's which annoyed my wife a tad! (well it is midnight here).
As I reached for the cans, I thought about the article describing the very different effect of monitors versus, headphones because of the lack of "leakage" of left and right signals to both ears. It ocurred to me that one could design sounds and effects to exploit this as well as a "device" that could compensate for it.
The next thread I read was this one!
Yes please, just the thing.
Eric.

This is great. Count me in, you may remember that I constructed a remotely similar thing using Modular. I use Mackie HR624's and Senheisser Headphones.Shroomz~> wrote:Hi all,

Yes, of course I remember. I gave a Grappa a link to your modular patch & also to CrossfeedEQ a couple of days ago in the Device/Module wishlist forum.breitner wrote:This is great. Count me in, you may remember that I constructed a remotely similar thing using Modular.

I love it.
I just want to fiddle with the pretty knobs
Actually, this is a great idea, since I'm testing some headphone-only mixes.

I'm hoping to get a setting for matching up live cabinets, my IEM's, and my Blue Sky's.
It seems feasable to do this.
I even have a pair of cheap Yamaha's that are stereo only.
I could match those to my Barbetta's for a live mix.
And possibly the 3 way IEM's to the Blue Sky's.
This would be great for when I need to turn my mixing off, and finsih w/ phones.
I wonder if it'll work as an image shaper in an insert slot...
Hey a brickwall limiter for vocals and SPL bursts....
With wireless ( virtual & sightless ) connectors to the Destination Module of choice...
Sorry....ball bustin' is in my nature, I shall try and contain myself....

No problem strav, the more people involved in this one, the better & your Yamaha MSP 3's are fine.strav100 wrote:I only have Yammy MSP 3's though.......
I've sent a link to the first release beta to you all & all that I ask is for you to report your feedback to me via PM. It would also be great if you could name any presets you make logically, so if you make a preset for a pair of DT-770's that relates to monitoring on HR-624's or whatever, then consider naming your preset 'HR624_DT770' or something like that (it was just an example).
Thanks & best regards,

Re: CAN CONTROL - new plugin for Scope - need beta testers
I think this is pretty much essential to use headphones for mixing. tracking, playing or whatever.
I did not even have it possible to use phones in my setup, but i changed that to try this device.
I have A16 running in to a "twisted pear kookaburra" which is a DIYAudio kit for volume control and headphone amp.
which then gos to the headphones and speakers.
you can notice right away by turning it off, a massive difference in sound. and it is easier for me to listen
with the headphones with it turned on.
later after release of paradox i will do some test to try and get the sound similar to my monitors, but i do not think its very necessary in my case because i hardly ever get a chance turn them up loud and now i can at least with the phones!

Hope that clears up quickly & easily. What a PITA & hope you aren't losing gig time.
As Shroomz already knows, this works awesomely to fill in a hard panned L/R synth mix.
Very short demo, first few seconds is with Can Control bypassed:

Hello Shroomz,
I'd also like to test your device. I'll complete the infos regarding my headphones this evening. I check with the Rokit active speakers.

To all those who've received the first beta release, I just wanted to let you know that I'm busy for the next week or two, so you have plenty of time, probably 2-3 weeks to test the plugin.
cheers,

Hello,
Don't know if you need more testers ?
I do not have commercial monitors (but some headphones of course...), but it would interest me to see if I can get near results between the phones and monitors...
Thanks !
Frederic
