SPINNER (4-mode filter pan mod FX) - UPDATED 31/03/09
Re: SPINNER -24dB 4mode filter panning mod FX - updated 28/03/09
Mate, you are on fire atm, I will give this a whirl after my reformat and build this weekend; love the look of this and it sounds like an ideal filter for some of the projects I have had in mind for swirling breakdowns without me having to do all the work manually: Shroomz:- Making dreams reality.

the filter REALLY sounds great!
I have one question though:
Is the HPF really a HPF? it doesnt open alle the way up?? that is, it doestn let the full freq spectrum come through??
actually i dont care about this, because it sounds great:) i was just curious.
and one more qustion. what is the last filtertype NCH?
thanks

The NCH filter type is a notch mode.

another cool thing could be a switch between HZ/BPM for the LFO freq. that way you could tune the lfo to match your bpm. But nothing important. THe way it is right now, i am blown away by the sound! this is definetly going to be used here:
FX soundsource-> dtrip or analog delay -> reverb -> spinner!!
thanks agian!

I don't want to add midi clock based sync to this one. You can work out the Hz/BPM relationship quite easily though, since an LFO wave cycle @ 0.1 Hz is 10000 ms/10 seconds or @ 1.0 Hz it's obviously 1000 ms/1 second.the19thbear wrote:another cool thing could be a switch between HZ/BPM for the LFO freq. that way you could tune the lfo to match your bpm. Updated
- Fixed filter type switching issue. Now it DOES work properly.
Sorry, but if you're one of the 45 who already downloaded SPINNER you should download it again.

Hi Mark,
Just to let you know that for some reason the presets aren't associated with the device, well they don't load on start up for me anyways.

Matching KHz rates with a MIDI Controlled Phaser is extremely powerful with these.
I have maybe a dozen sounds I rely on live for performing.
For 4 years I have been tweaking these to perfection and my ARP String Ensemble is now added to the list.
I use SFP & samplers to emulate old sounds, but I am not content with a meger emulation. I want the sounds to be better through audio effects and especially MIDI controlling.
Spinners have made my ARP Strings just another example of this.
I use a stereo pair from my ASIO 2 Source Module to branch off into 4 stereo pairs. One has a Phaser that can be controlled by MIDI CC's for depth amount, and the other 3 pairs each get a Spinner w/ an HP / BP & LP. The rates in KHz are matched w/ the Phaser and having the option of Phaser depth adds the final touch.
A dear friend of mine is doing his last tour and will become a Lounge Lizzard like me this year. He will also lose the luxury of a crew and management.
He hates the sound of the NI B4 and Receptors as a synth replacement.
The Receptors are very stable thanks to the custom O.S.and interface. But they sound best used a sample playback of Pianos, EPianos, etc. Little tricks like this will convince him an XITE-1 and a Receptor will actually be more controllable and in some cases sound better than the hardware it emulates.
This is an example of that.

I fixed that here tonight, but won't be releasing it until it's fully tested this time, so if anyone would like to help me test the device, please send me a Private Message. I'll continue testing it myself in the meantime.Mr Arkadin wrote:Hi Mark,

Awesome, thanks so much. These knobs are looking way cool too, just know that your efforts on the gui's are much appreciated always.

Just tried this one, and it sounds really good. The self-oscillating max Q setting feels a bit too loud for me, but it's very usable at more moderate settings. If i could get a wish, I'd like it to have a Dry/Wet control for a more subtle nuance, but one can get that using the Parallel Effects Insert anyway.
All in all, a great device!
thank you Shroomz!

i just used the eralier version. Not the first, not the newest, but the one in between.
The spread pot doestn do anything.
It did work in the first version.
I have no idea if it works in the newest version ( the one with dry/wet fix), just thought i would let you know

Spread control works. I just made it a bit more subtle, so that you can't spread the frequencies as far apart.
