Need songs
I need some backing tracks that don't have drums on them. I have a drummer that wants to record a 3 or 4 song demo playing to cover tunes (classic rock style). But we need the songs to NOT have drums in them so he can record his own drum tracks. Do such things exist? I assume a studio making karaoke tracks might have something like this. Anyone know where I can buy backing tracks minus the drums? Thanks.

Dave Weckl published drumming methods with drumless tracks for the drummer to play along with. It's not really rock though, but maybe wiorth checking out...

Wow...there's a name for you.
He's a fantastic drummer who often came and sat in with us seeings how he's a hometown boy from St.Louis.
There's no better Latin jazz or jazz drummer for that style.
All of the gigs Jay Oliver and him didn't like I'd get.....
I haven't spoke with him for years, but had the priveledge of chatting backstage with him in Reno when he last played there w/ Chick Corea and J.Patitucci. Talk about CHOPS....

I have been putting together a Karaoke DAW for someone and was checking this out. Didn't listen to the Classic rock stuff, but the pop was fairly decent.
I have been comparing tracks I have pruchased to the ones I made with VDAT and VDAT sounds much better. But dry tracks re mixed back into Scope and played back on VDAT are hard to find. Most tracks I am finding are all mastered already.
That would be a great idea for karaoke stuff though.
