Nearly any parameter in Cubase 5 including mixers and effects can be automated via midi. It took me a while to figure this out so I posted it here. I was on hold to Steinberg for 35 minutes and got a brief answer before he rushed me off! From what he told me I was able to figure this out. The answer is in the Device Setup/Generic Remote section. This is rather hidden and cryptic. You want to use the "learn" button to figure out what midi CC your knob or fader is. Look at my image. The bottom section shows how it is routed. In this example I am using midi CC 19 to control frequency on my reverb.
Originally I was going to use this method to control the pitch of a VSTi note in the pitch correct module because the VSL does not have pitch bend but because of the 127 limit of midi, stepping made this unusable. It is great for volume and panning though.
P.S. Sometimes the "learn" function does not work. Try it 2 or 3 times or you can type the cc number in if you know it.

Re: How To Control Any Cubase 5 Parameter Via MIDI
this was also possible since cubase sx 2 i think ( not to ruin eveyrhting for you, but i just thought i would let people know that its possible with earlier versions as well
)

Re: How To Control Any Cubase Parameter Via MIDI
I did not know that.
Re: How To Control Any Cubase Parameter Via MIDI
I wonder if they've gotten mixermaps back up to what Cubase v5 was capable of (the *old* version 5)? I think this used to be called mixermaps at least...

Re: How To Control Any Cubase Parameter Via MIDI
I got it because it's 64 bit. Cubase 4 64 bit preview was kind of half-assed
The only good support I ever got was from VSL. Creamware/Scope support is horrid.

not true because:braincell wrote:Creamware/Scope support is horrid.
1. Ralf is a good guy that wants to help if he can.
2. there is NO Creamware. it's Sonic/Core.
Re: How To Control Any Cubase Parameter Via MIDI
My mistake, I mistook Ralf from Creamware for Ralf from Sonic Core and the Creamware card I bought from Creamware from the Sonic Core card marked oddly enough "Creamware" on the box, also for some odd reason the SFP is exactly the same platform I was using when I was dealing with Creamware. The companies are so different, I don't know how I could have confused them.
