Hi there, i have been pulling my hair out trying to solve my problem of controlling inserts from scope through to cubase. If anybody could help it would be very much appreichiated. I dont mean to sound stupid, lol, but i would like to note that i am a new user to scope and also not all that great with music termanology, so the simpler the better.lol
Cheers

Automating inserts?

Describing your problem is usually a good start, if you want people to help you

Re: Automating inserts?
My problem is i dont no how to rout my channels inserts in scope through to cubase, so that i can control the inserts (filters, flanger etc) in the scope mixer, through cubase. if that makes any sense?lol

Re: Automating inserts?
I'm not quite sure what it is you want. But you cannot control any Cubase FX directly from the Scope mixing environment. Similarly, you cannot control Scope FX directly from Cubase. You can use Scope FX as XTC within Cubase. This allows Scope FX to appear as VST's or VSTi's but inside the host. Scope FX used inside Scope mixing environment can have automation parameters changed by midi CC changes generated in and routed from Cubase to Scope. And vice versa, I guess.nightscope wrote:can control the inserts (filters, flanger etc) in the scope mixer, through cubase. if that makes any sense?lol
Audio channels that need to be routed to and from Cubase and Scope go through ASIO channels. As many ASIO in's and out's as you have in a Scope project will appear in Cubase and can be renamed.
Any other questions, ask stardust. He the Cubase dude.

Re: Automating inserts?
Thats what i would like to no, how to assign the cc parameters but i dont no how, basicly i am using kontakt vst for my bassline and i would like to use a filter from scope to filter it in and out. And control that by drawing in automations in cubase, if this is possible?
Re: Automating inserts?
Yes you can use midi automation cc's as has already been suggested. Assign a cc to the cutoff on scope filter say for arguments sake 55. Then create a midi channel in cubase and pick controller 55 and draw in your automation. Set the output to scope on correct midi channel(if midi is not going straight to filter but to a mixer then make sure mixer is set to receive on correct midi channel) and you should hear and see effect.

Cheers, hopefully soon al get the drift and not have to ask stupid questions.lol

Re: Automating inserts?
If the intended insert has no MIDI I/O, load it into a Channel or Mixer or something else that has MIDI I/O. That host device will then communicate the MIDI CC# to/from the insert effect.
