mixer trouble

hi fellas! how are you doin?

just back in business. my absolutely stupid question is:

- how to prevent the track(s) being played back from feeding back to another track just being recorded?

- stm 1632
- {wave source x} > {stm 1632} > {wave dest x}

- using audacity as recording software

any help appreciated

record from direct outs, NOT the mix out if using the 1632. if using the 2448, use direct outs or one of the record busses.
