Re: S775 ASUS P5Q P45 PCIE
there is some gigabyte MB based on P43 with 3 or 4 PCI, but didn't check them ... yet!
btw, don't even think to put a 9600GT with a 500W PSU, it consume 200 w when 3D is active.

Re: S775 ASUS P5Q P45 PCIE
Nuendo (as well as all hosts) have problem with multi CPU (dual Xeons for example) linked to memory access arbitration. This problem is linked to the hardware design of core 2.
I have run for more than a year a Supermicro PDSBE with 3 Scope pro in XTC mode at 64 samples / 48KHz without problem but recently tested a ASUS P5Q SE Plus .... no go for scope! ASUS bios is not good for DAW support ... and their support will just be able to tell you to change your audio boards as they are "outdated"
.
I currently think to move to a core i7 but it's heat transfer is worry me a bit!
cheers

Re: S775 ASUS P5Q P45 PCIE
I just finished putting together a new system with a ASUS P5QC board with the P45 chip set.
I tried some test recording last nite and everything ran smooth. I'll be putting to the test in two weeks. My band is playing and I am going to record us live with the new sytem. So between that and mixing the recording should give a good test as to how well it will work.
I've always had good look with ASUS boards, we'll see how this one does.
I'll be sure to report in.
