WASAPI Yet Another Audio Driver

Post by braincell »

I just found out that Cubase 5 and Sonar support WASAPI. What is WASPI? It's an audio driver similar to ASIO which in theory could allow you to get very low latency using a standard audio card. It only works in Vista.

Nice info in the first link that the driver doesn't include a SRC, that's a huge downside to the whole directshow/directsound stack. I would probably still check in with hydrogenaudio to see if it's truly 'bit transparent' though.

wasapi usually goes with sashimi. Has a fresh aroma and packs a powerful punch to the nose. Studies shows that the chemicals responsible for wasabi's strong flavor can inhibit microbe growth. Pretty cool eh. Didn't know it also did audio.
