Yeah Gary, we get snowfalls, but they are light, rarely reaching more than a few centimetres in depth.
They are short-lived - even if snow settles on the ground it melts soon after, most commonly within half an hour.
They are very rare - in most years, low-level snowfalls do not occur at all. Any given area that receives one may not receive another for decades, or longer.
There are a few small ski areas on the other side of the country - all melted now of course. So snow outside of these areas is a rare and amazing thing.
paul, that looks really nice. Like my very idea what every winter should look like, at least 3 full months long. I mean, sure, summer and sun are nice, but a snowy winter is magic.
I hope we'll get some more lasting snow here soon, so far everything that came melted away again.
