I guess it's a matter of time before we start seeing pc game controllers. I'm thinking of trying the gyration mouse. Still trying to decide whether to try the logiteck air mouse or gyration... Anyone tried either of them? Problem with these things is that they're so rare, you can't find first hand opinions about them.

wii hacks getting old?
Re: wii hacks getting old?
i got the wii-mote and i love it...
to be honest the whole gyro thing is mostly nice for opening and closing filters, or generally assigning to controllers,
controlling a pc with it is a bit tedious and slow, keeping stock of batteries and reloading them is something i never keep up with.
for that i find that the best solution is a classic remote control...
the real fun about the wii-mote is not its gyro stuff, but rather experimenting with multi-touch
would i get one of those gyro mice? nop.
but thats just me

Re: wii hacks getting old?
right.. if you already have a wii. Actually, I read that wii mote uses the gyro patent owned by Gyration.
Re: wii hacks getting old?
Some of the gear I used to use in 3d animation actually outputs midi streams from its sensors (posable 'monkeys' and mocap suits). We once played with trying to convert the midi streams to usable data for synths, but this was 95 and most of the dedicated hardware solutions available would have required a personal purchase (the 3d gear was owned by a TV post studio) so we didn't make much headway. I wonder how much of that hardware (or the tech for it) is floating around used now...there's certainly enough software to remap midi data to anything you want.
