what is it. 16 bit or 24 bit?

Hi everybody ,
I'm recording audio with ADAT(source) and asio ,and my project setup check( on cubase4) 48khz/24 bit.But when I look to İnput/Output page(F4) on cubase, I see on input "asio 16bit" .
But I want to record 24 bit. Why it's look 16bit on input setup?

Make Sure that you use 24-bit ASIO modules in your Scope project screen.
If you've already done that, you could try to hit the 'reset' button in the VST connections menu of Cubase.
