Xp on Laptop?

Hello.-i want to use windows xp on a laptop-
is it safe? does xp battery management? should i download drivers before the installation (modem-video adapter)?
it has win 98 since now...Thanx in advance

Got it installed on a dell latitude cpx and it works great with the easy drivers although there is 50-60 ms latency (didn't get a rme sound card for it yet). It installed right through without having to use any additional driver set but you might want to check with the manifacturer. It's pretty cool for editing music on a cliff or by the sea :smile:

I've just put XP on my laptop - excellent - nice and fast (once you've put the interface back to windows "classic") - lots of nice features. I did a totally clean install - everything seems to be working fine.

I've got a Dell Latitude CPx.

Works exellent on a Dell Lattitude C600.
No need to download drivers. Everything worked just fine.
