As Greg & Gary have stressed, there is NO 'new' USA. Same greedy, lying, manipulative people plundering your pockets & planning the world's future for their own benefit. Same people pulling the new puppet Obama's strings.

This is must read material IMO :-

Yeah, the US is basically up for sale, essentially driving the value of the dollar to next to nothing and forcing adoption of a global currency that is even more centralized and manipulable - probably driven by the IMF playing savior, and the World Bank printing the new currency.

It's happening right before our eyes.

The US is indeed up for sale. A lot of it's already been sold in fact. What's more... people by in large don't have a bloody clue what's going on. They media says (sorry, spins) 'credit crunch' (or whatever they call it in your various countries), not 'people need to give more money to the bankers & corporations that already have WAY over ten times the world's governments' supposed 'debt' in their pockets'.

Being Alitalia the national flight company almost in bankruptcy, here the "res-publicans" equivalent faction has splitted the company in two parts, one owning goods and infrastructures, the other owning the debts, then goods and infrastructures have been sold (almost below cost) to a local investor chain; the part owning the debts remains to the taxpayers... (Lot of voices say the income from the sale of the good part is absolutely not enough to cover the debts)

Not long time ago the pseudo-nationalistic attitude of the "res-publicans" equivalent faction (togheter with pressures from some trade union mark) invalidated the agreements that were bearing with non-Italian companies interested in the purchase of the WHOLE Alitalia.
They challenged probable hubs suppression (and personnel dismissal) and things like that..
In the meanwhile the company has been refinanced several times by the government to avoid bankruptcy and its implications at employment level.
Personnel dismissal has been announced (the same) by the current management, and this is living up the strikes and inefficiencies of these days.

If you say something with authority, a certain amount of people will follow you. I don't buy that anymore. The king has no pants. Show me proof. You are full of crap until you do.

Well I thought I'd let you guys know that last year the Government of Dubai came to that big new job called City Cernter and invested 6 Billion doallars. 4 for MGM/Bellagio stocks and 2 Billion for the actual property. Same folks gave 25 million to Bill & Hillary just in case.
They also hired the Building Company to start projects in Dubai that total 46 Billion dollars worth.
They are smart and realise that their Oil is gone and are investing heavily in the New USA. What better place than Nevada?
The state is showing record numbers in gambling revenues, but the tourism rates have been hit because of the gas prices last year. That all changed 2 weeks ago when gas hit 1.89 a gallon.
I have been here since the Howard Hughes Corporation owned everything, and he even tried to buy the Atomic Energy Department after claiming the bombs blowing up kept him up at night...
Then the Mafia came and did the best job actually, as they did spread the wealth around. I made the same money now back then. :o

Then Disneyland and US Corporations took control of stock share now the " Governmant Of Dubai ". and the Royal Saudi family. They even have stock in WWE Wrestling Federation, what a name.
We are all being sold and have been for a while. The reason the Fed has to print money is it has been a virtual ownership for years now.
To prevent World War III was the slogan used in the '90's for selling a piece of the property and it does take the petro dollars back from the Middle East and recirculates it.
If you wonder why Putin is always so pissed it's because we partnered up with the East Bloc countries and China, and they weren't invited. Bush's cronies claim they haven't been a democracy long enough? ......and I guess China has? The Olympics being at Bejiing was just the final straw.
Watch the 2 destroyers doing Naval exercises w/ Venezuala soon as Russia tries to partner up w/ anybody they can like Syria and N.Korea. Venezuala has Oil and the deal w/ Columbia is to be revealed soon also. That will nuetralize Chavez and his pleas to have Russia help is about as bothersome as a piece of gum on the bottm of Uncle Sams shoe.
Money, Food and Oil are all controlled by the big banks & corporate farms, and with China and the WTO being partners it is obvious what's at stake.
Why can't they make good capcitors yet? My Corsair took a shit because of those.

Who does is pulling the strings?

I can't actually see that clearly. I might just say the overlords... finance and their "bubbles", banklords, oillords, pharmalords, warlords, buildinglords... and mafia's capital behind some of them. People that don't want their f*king rules to be changed. People that don't want a real State of Laws as a powerfull organization leaded anyway by the people and above all FOR the people, for the actual COMMON good; people that don't wont any great and organized power able to oppose them.

Where's the several lanes motorway you're on?
Still I can't get it. Banks don't own everything. Banks loan money on mortgages. If cause of financial speculations lot of the value of the goods on mortgages falls down, then...

where does money come from? how is it printed and what does it represent?

there are different kinds of banks. the ones that you see, consumer banks are one thing, an operation like the world bank is something different. the banks you are familiar with borrow money from bigger banks. the government borrows the economy's money from still bigger banks which create the money that they lend from nothing. they are contracted out to do this job by governments...

does your country have a "national debt", and if so, do you know to whom the debt is owed?

I'd never considered the issue from this perspective.
I was just thinking central banks almost controlled by governments and not vice versa...
