i never celebrate birthdays for a variety or reasons no one cares about(like that the earth's orbit is not as regular as we like to think. and the leap years... ), but i love wishing people a great day.

have a great day!

Well no-one spotted my birthday at the beginning of last month - and that's just how i like to keep it (not for gary's arcane reasons :P but because i just don't get excited by them - it's just another day to me).

But i can wish you a happy birthday :D .

You can only have one birthday in your life. That is the day you were born. That day will never come again. Every day you get older. You are not suddenly a year old just because the stars are in the same position every 365 days. You could call it the anniversary of your birth but again, the alignment of the stars holds no significance to me. Pointless ritual.

Ah, but what if they say you can't have your old age pension because you aren't even one year old ??

To be fair, I agree with all of you to some extent but thanks for the birthday wishes anyway

Well, it's not a conspiracy...sometimes happens that someone spots a birthday and starts a topic, the topic gets noticed (I think that everytime the name "Ralf" appears everybody comes to see what's up) and the others chime in....

Anyway happy post birthday... :D

well, it was sunday, so your birthday just might have been unnoticed since if of people refused to switch on the computer and went out to take some fresh air instead.
all the best from over here :)

I hope you had a nice day, despite the accentuated insignificance this ritual might mean to other people. you are free to celebrate it, if it means something to you

-greetings, markus-

I'm sure it wasn't intentional Neil.

I don't usually post on the birthday threads so I suppose you can feel privileged :P

...even if it is a few days late

Come to think of it - yes I am :)
I'm on the covers (photos) of many biking maps in Scotland or my photos are used for them........
I'm in the Outer Hebridean holiday brochure 2006/7 - (photo).............
And in 1984 I wrote a beginners guide to programming in BASIC language (book - 250 pages) which sold very well and had to go to a second publication. (Now I'm a Luddite)

Not included in the list above are any police records (oops, I didn't say that)

Ah, but the programming book was typed up for me by a pregnant neighbour, who went dislexic because of her "condition".
Rumour has it that a cargo ship bound for Hong Kong used the book for programming navigation systems and ended up close to the Pyramids in Egypt - all hands lost but instead of drowning, they choked on sand

Let me take this opportunity to wish you, belatedly, a very happy last birthday and also present felicitations for all the rest of 'em. And those to come. And even those will never come.
