select 'opt. S/P-DIF' in the 'View -> Samplerate Settings' menu and there you go!
But for some reason, on my Pulsar2/3.01 the 'opt SP-DIF source' (from the Hardware IOs menu) doesn't work.... the optical s/p-dif source will play fine through the s/pdif coax I/O though, but as you'd expect things go wrong when simultaniously connecting an optical and a coaxial source. See also this topic on PlanetZ.
I'd really like to know if anyone managed to use an optical source through it's appropriate IO in the Pulsar 3.01 environment???

I use the Optical SPDIF. You have to use the right-side (when you are facing the Pulsar card) optical connection on the Pulsar, the left one won't do it (at least on my setup). I usually have to set Pulsar to slave -- optical or coaxial -- to hear anything.
