The New USA

Post by dawman »

It looks like our citizens hated Bush so bad that people voted straight across Democrat on their tickets.
If the Dem's do as they say, it will be the land of milk & honey.
But within 6 months they will give a State Of The Union speech where several members stand behind the Speaker Of The House with solemn faces looking down and say, " Our current plan must be revised due to the economic failures of the Bush administration ", and the same old game will continue, pretty much w/ the same players and a re shuffled deck.
I am very happy for Obama and I am proud that in the USA a normal middle class chap could become the leader of the Free world, I will honor our new Commander In Cheif.

On another note, my taxman will decide my bands fate.
I have been preparing to become a mercanary again as I grow weary of playing covers, but have learned Scope to another level from the endless hours of recording VDAT reacks and re routing projects as a live PA.

According to the new Liberals, I am a rich guy.
I pay for SSI Insurance for my members as it is Nevada State Law, it's roughly 38 USD weekly, and allows a member of mine to recieve State benefits if he can no longer perform due to an injury recieved while on the job.
But these guys do not look at what my Net take home pay is, but rather my gross.
So the 5000 USD we make weekly falls on me as if I were making that much money, when actually after all of the illegal kickbacks and commissions, and musicians salary are paid out, I take home 1400 USD per week. But sadly fall into the " rich Guy " status as I am the contactor. According to Barrack and the boys I am making 250.000 USD annually.
I already put food on the table for 2 executives, 3 musicians, and a broken down State diasabilty System fund.
According to the Dems I am Fat and a prime target for revenues.
If I stop being a contractor trust me these talented people I work with be w/o a job, as they had to be practically beaten to rehearse.
Think of all of the other small business that will close shop to avoid paying higher taxes.
Owners will lay off people and assume more responsibilities themselves to keep their taxes and insurance costs down.
I only hope these pathetic politicians understand the USA needs more affordable Health Care, and better education for our citizens.
A little bit of Socialim is a good thing IMO as it bolsters up State policies which cannot provide everything.
Regarless, I look to our new Commander In Cheif with optimism and hope a better system will emerge.

I am most definately a Yankee-Doodle-Dandy. Hip-Hop-Hurrah !!

what I´m still curious to know is what`s changing? No troops in Irak or Afghanistan? Better Cooperation with Europe and Russia? End of the financial crisis? An affordable health insurance for each citizen? Less power consuming cars and industries? Restrictions for ingredients of foodstuff? Equal rights for black people? Equal rights for women? Less smog?
He's got a real tough job. I don´t wanna be in his place especially with those old wigs from the lobbies around which are throwing money around like a cow shits. But hey he`s still the best man you could get from the election.

I don't feel sorry for you because you are supporting crime. You want Obama to make tax exemptions for the mob? All he is doing is going back to the code before Bush lowered taxes on the wealthy and yes, I consider anyone who makes over $250,000 to be wealthy and besides the tax increase only applies to the amount over $250,000 so if you made $270,000 then your tax increase would only apply to the $20,000 above the $250,000 so that is hardly a burden. It doesn't surprise me that you are so misinformed though because I find that people such as you refuse to listen to Obama's speeches. He is going back to the tax system we had in the Clinton era. Haven't you noticed that the middle class in this country have lost income? Joe the plumber is never going to buy his bosses company. He was just running his mouth to be an a-hole because he disagrees with the democrats philosophy which is to aid the middle class. Normally the republicans just like to help wealthy people. The "trickle down theory" didn't work. People just end up keeping the extra money not adding new jobs. Unemployment is rising, the deficit is going through the roof. This administration has been a miserable failure and McCain wanted to continue the current policies. He voted with the Bush administration 90% of the time. You wanted more of the same? The McCain theme song was "Johnny B. Goode". I laughed when I heard the line "Never learned to read or write too good." That describes John McCain perfectly. Obama's theme song was "Signed Sealed Delivered". Much better song.

"Kickbacks" are something I would expect in Mexico or Russia. This is not something I would condone in any way, shape or form.

Jimmy, as I heard Obama say it to Joe the P, the tax change will only affect the amount above 250,000 - which will go from 36 to 39%. Your 5,000 weekly adds up to 260,000 a year (if it is a steady income. The difference for you will be 3% of 10,000 = 300$ a year - or 25$ a month. You will likely not feel it that much :)

What's everybody talking about his promises? I heared his accents, for example when he names and thus recognises "the worldwide climat crisis", which was totally disregarded by the current administration. Turning that recognition into a promise is far-fetched IMO, but at least it gives hope that he will work on it. To fix problems is IMHO not directly the task of a president, rather to bring together a team and a people motivated to make the change happen. Regarding his rethorics, I've missed content in many political debates. Obama is fabulous in his speeches, and I think he's an excellent motivator and bringer of hope, which is crucial to a people and a time in need for such a leader. Recognising reality and its problems properly, to make people dream of a more realistic better future.

I for one was holding my breath untill I saw the absolute numbers on the CNN site, and great relief fell onto me when I saw that happen! I realise he's herited a poisoned gift and that the lobbies won't sleep untill they get what they want, but at least I have hope again that needed to return urgently after an absense of 2 devastating terms.

there is no "climate crisis". the sun is relatively inactive and temperatures are cooling. there never was global warming.

on the other hand, a facist world government run by banks and supported by a global carbon tax that won't do anything to change the weather is a strong probability.

Just be glad you are in a state with no state income tax!!! :o
(Trying to see the silver lining... :)

Would be nice if the Casino industry did a bit more for the state though. Never seemed like they really did enough.

You also have no yearly car tax as I have which is a regressive tax.

As for his promises, he won't be able to keep half of them but as I see it, we are a lot better off with him than McCain and I am strongly in favor of environmental concerns. The amphibians are the canaries in the coal mine, they are dying off all over the world after being around for millions of years. We also need to get off oil so the price will be more stable. Energy is not something we can live without realistically. These computer servers use a huge amount of power.

brain, dinosuars are also extinct. awwww...

atom, i'd be happy to discuss the issue with you some time, face to face. typing will NOT suffice. i know we aren't going to change each other's minds, but i have to wonder just how much of your response to me is an emotional response. logic dictates that the earth's climate is in a constant state of flux and that, since the earth has been much warmer than the present at least 50% of it's existance, that what we are being told is not exactly the truth. just ask yourself, "why the banking families like Rothschild, who are the one's who are most likely to benefit from this 'greening', the ones who orchestrated the present economic collapse leading to world currency "carbon credits", are the ones who are funding all the global warming noise?". ask yourself, if the earth has always had "stable climate" until now, why Greenland used to be green and why dinosuar bones have been discovered within the arctic circle. ask yourself why the Club of Rome said that the fear of "global warming" would be the ticket to institute the world government. ask yourself why the earth's temperature changes follow mar's changes(yes, mar's ice caps that weere melting are now returning and the earth is also presently in a cooling cycle which is not winter). ask yourself why the MOST IMPOTANT gas for life on earth is now considered a pollutant even though the levels of CO2 are LOWER than MOST of the earth's history. etc, etc, etc....

those people on that article are liars, cheats and fools, sorry. just because they call themselves "authorities" because they go to school doesn't make them good people.

i know you love your authorities who tell you what to do. i love being a free, soveriegn human being. i detest being a slave, even to a benevolent master. i am willing to cooperate with my peers, however.

Gordon Gekko, no doubt i'm a clown, and i'm not the usual type, thanks. no offence taken.

Gary I don't know what information machine fed you that info, but it may not be entirely true. Apparently, before & after the peak of the suns' last 11 year cycle in 2001 it was emitting massive (& relatively regular) ION pulses that had never previously been seen by scientists. It was a phenomenon that could not be explained. When you add that to the fact that the sun didn't actually begin returning to it's less active mid cycle state in the 2-3 years to follow (which it should have done according to all previous recorded data on the subject) you actually get a picture that looks something along the lines of the sun being 2yrs past the midway (inactive) point of what seems may be it's least inactive & actually most unusual period since it's activity could be studied & recorded. It reaches it's peak again in 2012 (as I'm sure you know). Lets see how hot it is around the globe & what's being blown out of & sucked into the sun that year, eh.

Sorry for going OT, but I couldn't really give a Rats ass about the next American face of Freedom, Truth, Integrity & Word, sorry Hand of God.

Shroomz, that's the problem, it's only a face, not the reality of Freedom, Truth, Integrity & Word, sorry Hand of God.

also, ALL of that is NORMAL for the sun, as is "climate change" normal on earth. currently, the sun is relatively inactive. in a few years when it becomes active again, it can be said that it has returned to it's "normal" state of activity. the climate has always been crazy and ever changing. the ideas of controlling it are madness.

You guys really like to rain on the parade eh ?
At least one of you is happy today.... Me ! :D
Martin Luther King had this very dream. The whole world is celebrating this event like the Berlin's wall falling....
But, yeah a world with no taxes and free guns. The governement IS the problem, there's no human impact on the climate, ressources are for ever to last, we're doomed and nobody will be able to change that. Ever....

Blindness, autumn depression or what ?

My Brotha's from around the country are calling w/ enthusiam and sheer happiness.
I am very happy for any African-Anerican ( Brotha' in my book ) as this could be the role model to follow instead of the " Gangsta Rapper ". Before Brotha's had excellent role models, but this is the real deal.
I didn't vote for him but none the less he is now my guy.
One Brotha' from Philly is especially happy as they just celebrated the Phillies winning the World Series, and I would have loved to been on South Street or Center City, now Obama wins..........he says if the Eagles win the SuperBowl he will pay for a round trip flight for me, and I sure as hell will go.
America actually started in Philadelphia and New Amsterdam ( NYC ).
If I go I promise to sample the Chuch Bells ringin' on Broad Street and convert to STS for all of my Brotha's here......... :D :D .

When you do simple maths, to see what kind of impact we are making on the planet, it is pretty clear we are harming our own home.
global warming or not, we need to take responsibility. we are just temporary guests here.

Obama being selected gives me hope.

Technically Jamestown, Virginia was the first colony.

Barack is Arabic for "blessed" and as Red knows, barukh is the same word in Hebrew.
