Heidi on Radio1's In New DJ's we trust show. It's her first time doing this show & she's got Richie Hawtin as a guest.

Your absolutely right. The definitions of so called house & techno compared to what they were originally are all crossed over & mixed up (pun intended) :) .. What this girl Heidi was playing as 'Jacking techno' (American term?) was probably more like what's being called minimal techno these days which is actually more like a Detroit inspired house derivative than anything else. There's a lot of that style coming out of Europe (especially Germany) at the moment & some of it is excellent.

Have to say I enjoyed her set & her interview with Richie Hawtin, especially where he was talking about his new concept for interactive live performances (although that type of concept is something that some people have been toying with, planning & even trying to do for way over a decade).

Steve Mac Essential Mix (scroll down to the link next to the large red play icon). I'm over an hour into the mix & it's excellent. You can tell he's been making house music for 20 years !!

Guru is right.

I bought his second Plastikman record 'Musik' soon after it came out & have been a huge fan ever since. Definitely one of the pioneers that's inspired a lot of producers since the mid 90's. :)

Just a few years earlier in that case. :)
I started getting into dance music at the age of 16 or 17 & now I guess I'm starting to feel like an old fart at the age of 35.

Re-listening some Nina Hagen, I found a sort of "best of" CD quite cheap. Only living female singer that could really be defined as "badass"!! Unique, great!

:o didnt expect to see her sell outside germany
Well, not true in the past....in the 80's she had some success here, I was not the only one owning "Unbehagen" LP and I also saw an amazing live concert which was truly top notch.
