I already started wondering what I did wrong by thanking for you efforts (because sooner or later something like this happens to all non-native speakers), but then, it wasn't even me... :)

Only a partial solution, but this one claims to import Creamware .tds files (feature added Nov. 07 :) )
Demo is available, and the software is cheap.

I dont know tdat details, but if tdS is stereo and tdM is mono, i guess you could email the developer to add tdm support as i cant see it being too much trouble.

Good luck, please post your findings if you try this method.

Summing up the issue for the sake of those stuck just like I was  . . .

  • 1. Read suggestions offered above. It's great for backround, ideas, configurations and fill-up.
  • 2. Using Triple Board. Get an ISA slot motherboard (used today for industrial purpuses), install Win98 and tell us if it works... There will most probably be problems with the drivers for the new components, so the older the machine - the better chances you have. Good luck.
  • 3.The TripleDAT plugin is available at Sonic-core for 98 Euro.
    Works only with Win 98.
Works on any of the Creamware and probably SC boards.
Identical to the classic Triple (256 tracks, burning from arranger) and includes the Osiris (not Osiris XP).
Here again, there may be a problem getting win98 drivers for your modern computer.
Better off getting an older refurbished system. See recommended configurations above.
  • 4. For those who want to revive material (tdm/tds/arg files) or work on a software which has the TripleDAT general feel on an XP system - here's what you're lookin' for.
Most of these following products don't appear on the Online Sonic-core shop but even so they are available for purchase.

    a. CUTmaster XP: 3 DSP board (990 euro); CUTmaster pro 32: 6 DSP board (1,540 euro); CUTmaster XXL: 14 DSP board (2,092 euro);
Limited to 24 Multi-Tracks only. When loading old arrangements, all those tracks from track 25 onwards will be neglected.

    b. Scope REstore (focussed on Denoising.with Osiris XP): 3 DSP board (670 euro).
Includes the Triple LE (named also Triple XP): Limited to 8 Multi-Tracks only. When loading old arrangements, all those tracks from track 9 onwards will be neglected.

    c. Scope FX (for mastering): 6 DSP board. (670 euro).
Includes the Triple LE (see above)

    All of these systems:
  • have a completely different effect section/handling than the classic Triple (so what! We Tdat adicts have to advance sometime, don't we. . .).
  • Burning with NERO.

There is a possibility for purchasing plugins only, without the boards.
CUTmaster XXL (798 euro), Scope REstore (598 euro), Scope FX (598 euro), Triple LE (150 euro), Osiris XP (515 euro).
These Plugins support even the old Creamware boards (Pulsar ect.) and Win98.

If anyone is interested in the specifications of these systems/plugins make contact and I'll send information via mail.

For any more information, contact the Sonic-Core Dealers Ralph or Brigit

  • 5. For those who love the Triple ergonomics, look, operation and burning - there is a very similiar software for WIn XP named Trackcaster.
    http://www.drenkelfort.com/en/products/trackcaster.html

Checked it out. Nice. Cost starting from 385 EURO.
They claim the software reads tds/tdm files and Triple arrangers. Tried that out - but it didn't work. The manager, Holger - very friendly guy - promised that his programmers will check it out. Still hasn't got back to me.
  • 6. Fresh news:
For those who are stuck with tdm/tds files but don't really have any special sentiments towards the old TripleDat and do not want to deal with it no more...

    a. Frank is trying to find "somewhere" a little piece of software that converts these files to wav. I hope he finds it before you guys read this.

    b. Likewise, "next to nothing" offered a link to a software that converts multiple formats (80-120 euro).
    http://www.extranslator.com/
The Demo version identified and converted only tds (stereo) files but not the tdm (mono) ones. I sent a mail on that matter. The problem can be solved via Sound Forge and Wavelab "raw file import". If interested I'll send more information via mail.

Hope that helps.
Your'e free to ask questions. They might bring up more information.

Hi guys, hi Yaribon,

sorry for the delay, but I had no DSL since Oct. 7th. So, a lot of things got pretty mixed up here in the meantime. Nevertheless, I have been searching the program.
But, all I could find so far was that thing formerly called "winTDS" by a German company called "AKC Software".
Afaik this software is able to extract CD-Audio INTO Creamware`s .TDS and other formats.
Not the other way round. That`s a pity... Hm.
Do I possibly start having "Alzheimer"? Could be.
I guess You guys already know about that piece. It seems to be under license of WinDAC Software now. So, why not ask them for help. Maybe it`s no big deal to stream the given .TDS into .wav. Many "old" CW-Users would appreciate this, I guess.
Could be a licensing problem on the other hand..?
As CD-Audio is never mono-filed they should give attention to the .TDM mono format, of course.
The "extranslator"- software reads only .sts and similar, but no tds..? That´s what I can see from the feature list.

Sorry, but that`s all for now.

Best to all of You out there! :)

I just resurrected my Tripledat system. Yes, I'm crazy, but I still really like using it...

Windows Millennium
IEI MB-8650 motherboard
3.4ghz pentium 4
1.5 gigs of RAM (yes it works, with some tweaking)
750 gig SATA drive for data storage. (SATA raid driver for the onboard controller works with everything back to win 95)
OS is installed on an 8GB compact flash drive. The motherboard has a built-in CF to ATA slot.
Old Matrox Millennium 450 dual display card.

Everything is working extremely well. Performance is unbelievable. Five second reboot CRAZY! If I want to use VST plugins I have a version of Wavelab 3 that fully supports waves plugins up to waveshell 5.2.

My local music shop just gifted me with all of the Creamware cards they were never able to sell, so I now also have a TDAT-16 board. Unfortunately it didn't come with drivers. If anybody on here has the software/drivers for TDAT-16 I would really appreciate a copy.

The new industrial motherboards with ISA slots generally support win 9x. If you need to run an ISA card you probably need to run old Windows...

The real trick with old school Windows is good drivers. I have disabled all of the onboard devices I don't need. In addition the computer is NEVER on the network. I test everything I install in a virtual machine (Winme in Vmware on my Mac) before using it.

I'd probably use TripleDat myself, if I were a better player... but S.A.W. Studio is more convenient cutting and file handling.
Aside from that they are somewhat similiar approaches.
I never noticed particular drivers for the TDAT board, I just used the TripleDat 3.06 from the FTP site to install

cheers, Tom

leavittg: You aren't crazy.... I'm still using Tripledat on my Win 95 Dell PC as originally configured ! ( Purchased from Mark Pinske aka "Markman" back in '97. He recently joined Radian Audio from Peavey Electronics, where he was GM of MediaMatrix, Crest Audio and Architectural Acoustics for nearly a decade.)
I also have another Y2K Dell with luna card and triple plug-in running under Win 2000 ... and another whitebox PC with Pulsar + Triple LE. All still running. The PB chain goes like this... 3M79-24 track 2" machine analog into Alesis HD24 ( for converters or from HD24 recordings), > optical out into >Pulsar, I use my old 32 channel Tascam M3700 as as a MIDI controller for mixing into Triple >2 track send to Win 95 machine (stereo optical) for use as two track with Osiris + Firewalkers+ CD burning. Don't use them much anymore... may have drivers and orig install software...somewhere. I don't remember going above Scope 5. I do remember requirement to have Scope installed, but closing it down before opening Triple. This was a really good system and for the life of me, I cannot figure why Creamware didn't go after the DAW market back then. It was head and shoulders above anything else and, in my opinion, can still stand with the "best".
Wait a minute, maybe I'm the crazy one ...

Hi
I guess I'm the new kid on the block
Though I am re-tired, got laid off my job after 30 years.
Any way had a lot of time on my hand so I put together a
little better computer than what I had back in 1995 when I bought my TripleDat.
I ran my own band and have been a songwriter since I was a kid,
so music and playing gigs was always a second income to me.
I love recording on it, totally enjoy my firewalker plug ends.
My biggest problem now is trying to figure out what I did with the
Key code for my osiris plug-in. I put it up some where so I could find it,
Now if I could just remember where the heck that is.
Any way just want to say Hi and its good to see there some folks still using TripleDat.

They should just give us the serial numbers to our old cards. There has to be some old Creamware tech out there that could generate the appropriate codes for us!

Hello, I have also tripleDAT system and would like work again with this system, because I need to recover files TDM, and I also want to use the BACKUP function through the DAT, as I have enough information saved by this system.

So I installed again in TripleDAT old PC with Windows 98, but when the program starts appears the message "can not find the Tripleboard"

The card seems to be fully inserted into the slot, but in Device Manager does not show the tripleboard or tripleDAT name.

Anyone remember having this problem and, the probably solution?

Thanks

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Hi, thanks, aatranslator could be the ultimate solution, because, apart from using the TDM and convert to WAV, I also want to use the backup feature TripleDAT whit DAT cassette.
So first will try if I can run the TripleDAT, although it is not easy. The sof not run for the moment (can't find the TRIPLEBOARD)

Greetings.
