Flakey RAM?

Post by Music Manic »

I recently added more RAM to make it 3GB, but since that some sounds seem like
they contain "artefacts" and are rather flakey.

Is it possible that the RAM isn't seated properly?

It usually happens wen I load large samples.

I have Memory tested the RAM and they are reported to be good.

Thanks

Is it a DFD or Streaming app.?
Or is STS your sample loader?

DFD Jimmy.

Kontakt. I think I liked Giga quality better.

Battery loses its samples too and I have to reload.

Thanks

Yeah,
You just need to go in and set the DFD settings to cooperate better w/ the RAM. My favorite develeper went to Kontackt after the app. got handed it's hat, and was struggling severely.

I believe he's got it going on, but the DFD settings is where the trouble is.

of course it is - Nemesys didn't patent that stuff nothing, back in the pre-Tascam years
Mind you, the original GS ran on a 300MHZ Celeron - 1 core and 1/10 of current CPU specs... ;)

cheers, Tom
