You installed XP with ACPI, format, and reinstall WITHOUT ACPI.

Search in the forum here, the procedure is documented in PlanetZ

Did you make the problem disappear, briank? I've had my luna II for a week, have the excact same problem, and can't wait to get back home to my computer (in a week...) to try the suggested fix!

Marcuspocus, you seem to be very sure this will fix the problem... Is the problem common? (I haven't seen it posted otherwhere on planetz...)

Thanks anyway!

This driver not equals blah blah blah... Happened to me with XP and W2K only when i installed with ACPI... It's because ZinDoZe keep everything on IRQ9, but the bios say something else, then the creamware driver get's lost... And there is a lot of thread discussing this here... Some are able to installin ACPI, don't know how, but they say it work. Anyway, at least try to install with STANDARD PC, and see if it do the trick for you!

Wow.... yep, it seems like it's working! Thanks a lot! Lovely! But now, it would be great to have both my cpu's working too. I guess maybe it's too much to ask for... ?

Both CPUs should work unless you are using XP home edition, since you have xp pro they ought to work.

does the task manager actually show the second CPU window in performance?

No, only one cpu shows up in the task manager, where both cpu's appeared before I changed from ACPI to standard pc. You mean dual processing should not be a problem after going into standard pc mode? Maybe I should change something in the BIOS. Or some settings in XP? (I have XP professional.)

Anyway, the blue screen appeared once again, but only after a lot of "hard usage" of the card, not only the minute of winamp. Normally it has disappeared.

Standard pc = single cpu.

you need to install MPS pc for dual cpu. I'd wait till 3.1 coes out to install the 2nd cpu. You might run into these CPVErrors again...

Yes, I tried MPS pc too, the same crash, but maybe I should try different irqs and search for conflicts.

And of course, maybe 3.1 will do it!

Anyway, for now, thanks for the help! Planetz is really a great place!

Okay, the last tweak...

after some time getting used to having diched one cpu, I set # midi and wave devices to 1 instead of the default 2.

Swithcing to ACPI mode.

So elementary.... why didn't I think of it before? Epilogue: My computer is now (almost) twice as fast as I had gotten used to and LunaII works bigtime! Anyway... this is on Luna v. 3.01.

Satosh;
So you are working with dual cpus now?
How is pulsar performance, in regards to copy protection and pci errors? And how about stability?

Dual processing seems okay until now.

BTW, I use LunaII with SFP, finally made it install. (!)

High stability and no pci errors. Eight channels audio in from z-link simultanously to hd with effects.

Copy protection errors: None at startup, but when loading Masterverb Classic they show up. The other Masterverb doesn't give me those. I don't have any synths on the card. Hmmm, everything's OK but not the Masterverb Classic. So far.

I think it is really related to the masterverb classic. Ingo said today that they identified a bug in the packaging of those devices, this include Masterverb classic and also e-reflector.
