I played that same stage in the Playboy Girls Of Rock & Roll show at the Sands back in the '80's. Well, until I was stupid enough to allow my wife backstage. The one night where the girls were stretching out in the hallway by the dressing rooms naked, she decided to hang out...Big Mistake,.......Huge Mistake. As we walked by everyone was saying Hi Jimmy......thanks a fuckin' lot. I was immediately attacked behind closed doors and accused of doing things I could only dream of.......but if I remember correctly, we kissed and made up later.

Actually I am already weary of playing covers but must continue to finish the signed contracts. The money is too good and helps ease the pain of an automated cheese factory show.

I really want to use massive synth batteries for improv and something these places never hear. That will be my quest in 2009, as I am locked into this cheesy gig.

Chugging vast quantities of Jager has helped ease the pain, and of course the pay is ridiculous, and will buy my Bose L1's and another XITE-1.

I MUST survive this lengthy period of suffering, as it is fruitage of the spirit, but the levels of alchohol I have to chug to pretend I am enjoying myself are truly alarming. :o

When was the last real update?
I mean 4 was just a rebrand (the install files on my PC date from April 2004). 4.5 I skipped, but wasn't that just the odd plugin?

So if 5 really is the new version it's cracked up to be it'll be the first in about five years.

I, for one, am certainly not holding my breath and my expectations have been brutally managed.

I don´t think 5 version offers much. Just now, I think it´s more harware upgrade than sofware upgrade. A real sofware upgrade would need improvements that have been asked for on the forum, like for example a new sampler, compatible with actual big libraries etc. The real "new things" have already come in from 3rdparty users, like Dynatube and others.
Just my thoughts.

they did before. they delisted it later. all on their own account. in this case, I'm afraid, thomann is not a reliable indicator.

hifi: "very soon" is still a quite stretchy term

mh I said very soon. :D

theoretically I could have talked to someone who has direct information about the xcite-1 and scope 5. And further he could have told me that they plan to come out this month. But he wouldn`t want to spread this info because they once failed their target release date and they don`t like this to happen again. Then theoretically if I wouldn`t want to spread wrong information, I could say "very soon" theoretically.

just an idea. :D

cheers,
Boris

...and I think that the whole scope 5 hype is fake, just to keep SFP alive just a little more, enough to sell a few more plug ins at ridicolous prices and maybie to sell leftovers from 'the golden days' of CW !!! It is far from truth that SFP5 will be released, not one piece of hardware had such a lag in software support. People from this forum even tried to pursuade me in the past, that SFP is actually bugless, and there's no need for newer version, and any bug I met would be coming from bad installation (?) Of course, if u are a serious user, you've probably noticed by now, a lot of glitches and bugs in the software. I am writing this because I think that SFP has a great potential and flexibility, never seen on much more expensive systems. Lack of support made this project unusable for anything serious.

Lack of developer team in the past 5 years would have been the cause for not fixed bugs. The only developper team that CreamWare had was the InDSP team which concentraded on the ASB stuff meanwhile. No real evolution of the platform, no CreamWare designed new plugin (only third party). But SonicCore is lead by some of the developpers who were fired when CreamWare frirst crash in 2003 after the fail of the NOAH launch. So you should expect new thing to come again (the Gizmo plug could be an hint) and remember they work on new sound as they are designing the SOLARIS which sounds quite good from the early exemple. New hardware with a big jump in DSP power should also bring something. Delaying the release of Scope 5 and Xite-1 could be an hint that they want to release something as "clean" as possible.

Ok, but it makes me wonder what was shown on MusikMesse half a year ago. Was it an old version with a new color scheme? Was it so buggy that it needs so much work? Is it the OSX port that's taking them so long?
Was it pure commercial thinking to announce the launch of Scope5/Xite in May? Or are they now pulling their hairs out because they can't handle it? Is there no money left to actually produce the hardware?

People can say they would rather have SC release a full working product... My world won't stop turning if it turns out to be vaporware (oops, didn't want to say that  ) but Scope5, Xite and especially Solaris are taking their time for sure to surface...
I'm hopefully checking SC's site every sunday night if it's down 'for maintenance' :D

Waiting for Scope 5 is like watching a fish slowly die in a fish tank. We all gaze in wide wonder to see if it's going to survive. I have e-mailed customer support 3 times about Scope 5 and received no response at all! That completely sucks a reflection of how they do business.

I personally have never received such bad support from any serious piece of hardware or software.

I am sorry to say that I have abandoned Scope as they have abandoned me. I Bought my first Creamware cards in 2003 just before the 'crash' of creamware hoping for OSX support. Now 2008 with a OSX promise ... seems very similar.

I wish the best for the company I have yet to hear any software (original or emulation) that comes close to the sound of Scope. For now I'm happy with Reaktor and Kontakt and my wonderful Synthesizers.com fully analog modular synth! I am sad, however, that I had to let my cards go to the highest bidder.

I hope to see X-cite soon and enjoy using it with my Macintosh. :D

good luck to Sonic-Core. Good Luck. :P

people, we've been waiting for this stuff (Vista support, OSX support, XITE-1, Scope 5) for a long time. SC are a small company so stuff takes time to fine tune. I'm sure we can all be patient a little while longer. :)

I personally have been waiting for 5 years. Scope 4 - Scope 4.5 - inDSP - SonicCore - Scope 5 - Enough is enough. I have moved on. It just has frustrated me so much that I just can't stay away. Just like any breakup, it takes time.

My heart bleeds.

Quite a post, 3style :)

For me, this release won't change a thing about how I make music. Just lucky I suppose.

BTW, kylie posted while i was posting, and on my submit, it didn't go through, stating something like - "Someone has posted since you started writing, you may need to review". Kylie's post was displayed also.

Nice feature! :) never seen that before.
