the hardware midi bay probably has a filter, so yeah, it would help. you might even be able to return to the Scope midi port that way...

With your feet being used so much a Panic Button attached to a pedal would really be cool.
Glad you're another live guy, there aren't enough of us these days. The up and coming MIDI file performers outnumber us. At least the DJ's I do battle with have great gear.
I have an excellent hardware unit that re assigns pedals to do what you assign to them from Canada called the FP8. It's an incredibly great product for feet fuckers like us.

It has a built in Filter which by default removes all active sensing messages. This is totally programmable and meant for studio and live use. It's a niche product, but crucial when hands, feet, fingers, lips, chin, etc. are used to control parameters and functions live. You'd be surprised at the affectiveness a chin provides on a ribbon controller.
The chap who invented these units, and there are several BTW, answers emails and helps w/ any questions you might have.
The only other guy I know of who used foot pedals worked here at Harvey's in Lake Tahoe for over 30 years. Back in the '80's I made DX7 patches for him. You are the only guy I know who uses them. Hat's Off To You, as this guy has passed away and played there until he was 78 years old. A pure warrior. I loved his stories of booze, broads and parties from days of old.

I decided to read the manual a little deeper in respect to the 7 bit Absolute / 14 bit Relative MIDI choices that the FP8 provides.
This was designed to be used w/ a seuqncer as you could have SysEx messages in Hexidecimal in a tempo or MIDI track of Cubase, and have the pedals reassigned in realtime to whatever function you need.
Add another few notes to the upper or lower ranges of your pedals, basically anything you want. Having these strings of SysEx messages stored on your backing sequences is a very powerful and programmable tool if your running Cubase.
