Two main symptoms:

1) Volume name on CDRW drive in Windows Explorer stays at whatever CD was in when machine first booted up. Changing CD disks will not refresh the volume name or the files list. Pushing F5 (refresh) will update files list but not volume name.

2) Sometimes in windows explorer in the list of subfolders in the left-hand panel certain folder names get listed twice. Usually F5 or clicking closed and reopening the volume will put this right again.

To be sure, these are not system-killer problems, but it is a pain in the backside. Otherwise, once I get the right files showing, everything reads okay, even Akai samples. Buring okay also.

I have CULS2, XP Pro, Plexwriter 12/10/32A. Plex is Master on Secondary IDE, with an HDD (used only for backups) behind it. Both are DMA enabled, have tried setting Plex to PIO no help. Autoplay, or whatever its called, disabled in OS. According to Plex's site XP already contains the newest drivers, and I upgraded firmware on Plex at the time I went to XP. Also I installed ASPI layer. Earlier, I had other problems which were thus solved, but this one persists. Can't remember if it was always there from install, or started a little later, during my first few weeks of setup.

REALLY don't want to re-install OS, got everything else in pretty good shape.

Remixme, I believe you said you are having the same prob. I have scoured the net looking for solution. Apparently minor CD/DVD problems XP are common, but I haven't found the answer to this. I found on M$soft help advice that removing some CD burning software can lead to leftover registry entries called Upperfilter and Lowerfilter which will cause problems. I don't seem to have these, so doubt this is my answer.

Anyone have any advice? Tks.
