Pulsar2 SP-DIF opt source: 'Cannot find the corresponding ha

For some reason this message keeps popping up whenever I select the Pulsar2 "SP-DIF optical Source" or destination from the "Hardware IOs"-menu. However, the optical SP-DIF (btw isn't this standard officially called 's/pdif'?) stream plays fine through the "Pulsar2 SP-DIF Source".
I have not tried yet what will happen if I connect a coaxial s/pdif-source at the same time but I can imagine the digital noise will be evil

Eventually I would like to connect 2 external pc's (one coaxial, another optical) to the Pulsar2 at the same time.... but that's no very likely to happen as long the optical source doesn't have the familiar red triangles

Anyone?

Still have this problem after reinstalling the Pulsar 3.01 environment.....
So either my Pulsar2 board is broken or there is some kind of bug in the software.
But a defective Pulsar2 doesn't sound logical to me as the s/pdif optical in does actually work, though only through the coaxial hardware source in the Pulsar 3.01 environment. The opt. input module still doesn't do nothing.

Has anybody on this list ever used the optical in on the Pulsar2 and gotten it to work through the opt. s/pdif input? Does it work at the same time as the coaxial input?

I'm having a problem with the coax s/p-dif source module being so unstable it doesn't give me any audio. The curser blinks as does the sample rate. The destination module is working though. I wrote to support a few days ago. I haven't heard back. I'm thinking 3.1 scope fusion might solve it when it somes out soon.

Source module unstable? Is it possible that it is caused by an unstable clock signal from the coax s/pdif source equipment? Are you running Pulsar 3.01 as slave or master? Is anything connected to the optical in?

About my problem: I'm still connecting my optical s/pdif machine through the coax "SP-DIF source" in Pulsar 3.01 instead of the "SP-DIF optical source", which doesn't do nothing at all.
Connecting a coaxial s/pdif source (same bit depth/sample rate) at the same time (which should be possible, judging from the architecture of the I/O matrix) produces no sound at all.
Creamware: please look into this, this might be a bug!!!! Or am I doing something terribly wrong?

hi ernest,

afaik what you're trying to do is impossible without a common master clock (3 devices talking in various directions), so the PC interfaces have to be appropriate and (possibly) a Pulsar sync plate is needed (?).

Both the optical and s/pdif devices I want to connect to the Pulsar2 can be slaved to an external s/pdif source (ie the Pulsar2 s/pdif output), so clock shouldn't be the problem. I tried this and it works (just like when the devices use their own clock), but still only one at a time as they're both represented in the Pulsar 3.01 environment by the (coax) "SP-DIF Source". sigh

Anyway I'm compiling my personal bug-report and sending it over to Creamware soon, hopefully they'll help me out
