2*Pulsar (gen I) + 2*A16 (not ultra) + luna or powersampler

I have an intention of building a system with minimum of 32 ins & outs. I'm planning to go with 2 first generation Pulsars with old A16 attached to each of them. Old Pulsars are cheap and cheerful and therefore preferred in my budget setup.

Before I spend money on another Pulsar card, can someone tell me if they can be run with full i/o on both cards simultaneously?

Also, if I buy newer generation 3dsp card to go with them later, will I gain the benefits of reduced latency? My understanding is, that I need to install the new gen card as a master to older cards. Can it be done with a card that doesn't have i/o (SRB / FX - cards)?

Or am I totally lost with these conceptions?

yes, that's about it. i'd rather have 2 second gen and 1 pulsar1, but depending on how you use your system, it may not matter...

The system will primarily be used as multi i/o to connect to my analog console. Besides that I use scope effects in consoles fx busses. The third card would make the system powerful enough for me to use Scopes synths as part of the sound arsenal in real time. Better latency would help to play VSTi:s more responsively and also to use VST effects if I want to.

But this rig can work good enough for me even without later generation cards. The main thing is multi i/o.

The second card does not need i/os. My first upgrade was adding a Scope SRB to my Pulsar1.
