luna box power connection
luna box power connection
I have bought a cheap luna2+box on ebay to add to my old pulsar , it seems that solved my pci reach problem with my new system... (you can see the topic in tech talk, gigabyte p-35 ds3l..).In the doc they say that you have to connect the luna board to a floppy connector in order to provide power to the i/o box, but i cannot find any connector wich fit in my power supply...What type of connector is needed, is there adaptator with modern power supply? Do you have really to rely the board to a power connector? i cannot find anything in the old creamware doc...or anywhere in fact...I made a google research, a planet z to...Nothing...You are my last hope...( ever...)

Re: luna box power connection
they say (iirc) that the floppy cable power is needed in case you want to power 2 luna boxes. to connect a second luna box you will, thus, have to connect the luna adat expansion. there you will find the missing floppy power connector
I can't tell if you have to apply the power cable if you connect a single box to the second z-link port on the expansion, but if I'm not wrong the card can draw enough power from pci to power up one box, no matter where you connect them to.
in case you want to hook an a16u with both z-link ports you don't need to power the expansion card as well.

Re: luna box power connection
So i have just to rely the box with the z-link, if i' ll understand..Done! ( i have power off before..), the led dont ligtht on the luna box, no pwer,.... maybe this box is dead...F***** ebay....I am a moron, you have to drag a luna Z-link in the routing window to power it....PROBLEM SOLVED...in fact there are no problems at all, just a bad translation...The doc is really Crappy...THANK YOU ALL...

Re: luna box power connection
yeah, I also wondered whether my box was dead or not, just because it did not seem to power up.
but then I loaded the appropriate I/O module, and voila...
the Installation chapter gives you some hint about power and luna boxes, but no word on all leds dark while no I/O logically available at this point...
