Jeez I gotta say . I've got a few Behringer bit's and pieces and yeah O.K. you wouldn't want to talk about it in polite company . but this is Z ...right
I just bought the GX 108 firebird git amp . Like I said to Jimmy I'm not a pianists arsehole and also I'm not a git players arsehole but I like to fiddle about a bit and I have had to stand alongside a few git players and they mostly had good sounding amps . This thing is a Practice amp ...15 watts and an 8 inch speaker............. but the little sucker sounds friggin sensational , no modelling or anything but the thing is it doesn't need any modelling it sounds like a GUITAR amp , it really does . I've got the ultrabass 300,000,000gt and although it doesn'y really work at gigs ,not enough grunt fot the maniacs I'm liable to be playing with , if you D.I it into a recording machine it really sounds beautiful ,and this little firebird beauty has tape out so you can bang it into a mixer and get the sound out they say , haven't done that yet I only got it today . But listen REALLY... REALLY it's a friggin beauty it really is and it cost $ au 150 . This world is getting bloody ridiculous

Small guitar amps are where it's at for recording... not just Behringer, there are loads to choose from these days. You can drive them hard without high volume which basically beats the pants off any crappy modelled amp sim.

I totally agree on that 100%.

I bought my son a BC Rich and gave him an old SG Deluxe of mine from 1970 along with the miniature piggy back Silvertone stack.

I sounds excellent when overdriven, and as Brotha' Man Darkrezin pointed out, the overbearing volume can be quite frustrating. I stopped using this in 10th grade as I started using a Rhodes and Farfisa w/ a Leslie. Thankfully my parents never got rid of it but hauled it around for the next Scope4live jr. to come around.

When we play together using both guitars the Pignose ain't bad but this old piece of shit is so '70s'ish and perfectly distorted. It sounds as good as a 50th Anniversary Marshall stack.

i have a little 15w practice amp(i got the 15w instead of the 10w because the 15w had a reverb tank) called a RatFink. i've used it(mic'ed) on many gigs including an 8 month stay in a local eatery and i've often had people come and ask what i was playing, whether it had tubes and was it vintage. then, i show them what's making the sound and they laugh. small amps sound good. there are very few bad guitar amps, or guitars.

Never had a real problem at all with the sound of behringer gear (I've bought new & owned a fair bit) since it all did what it was supposed to when it worked. It's the build quality & resulting reliability that I've had problems with on a few occasions & that was without gigging any of it. When it works it works, just don't expect cheaply manufactured gear to be robust & reliable. Maybe I'm speaking out of turn though, since I haven't bought any of the behringer guitar gear & also don't know if maybe behringer have improved the build quality in the past couple of years. Strange thing is... although they *feel* like they're gonna break at any given moment, I've never had a problem with their BCR midi controller, which is probably unusual for endless rotary encoders.

I have done a couple of gigs with the bass amp which is the only beringher thing that gets mobile and of course I'm always expecting it to cark out on me , but it hasn't missed a beat yet ...touch wood...

I bought a couple of cheap Behringer stompboxes once and they honestly sound horrible. Sure, they were only £5 each, but I'd get much more satisfaction from a few beers.

yeah I dont like torturing my bx3000000 but the trouble is I found out the tone circuit sounds so good that I'd have to fix it if I broke it . BTW I put the firebird through what I laughingly call my monitoring ... the little sucker ROX.
I tell ya Bill gates might be getting into charity which is great indeed but that Behringer guy has been doing it for a while for us
Of course if he wants to send me his 2,000 watt monster bass head with an 8x10 buggarme speaker box.... well the access to my place is difficult but we'll get it there

Probably my best buy is my SansAmp GT2.. It can create almost any sound from crystal clean to heavily distorted, while respecting the sound of the guitar.
Can plug it to an amp or a console, and my sound is always there! (well, my tube head / 4x12" combo gives that little extra punch that can chop a head or two.. but that's a different story)

Sorry for the OT.. I have some Behringer gear that works fine for me ... a mic200 tube preamp, sounds nice for vocals (not mine) and accoustic guitars, and also the BCF and BCR controllers (they suck for a mixer, but are great for plugins and synths)

10 years ago I got an MX602A, that tiny mixer, first for monitoring control, and since about 4 years only for jams and small scale out-studio recording. And it still works like a dream. No loose knobs, no crackling, and I really just put it in a plastic bag and stuffed it in my backpack most of the time. What else could I ask for?
I have and use some more Behringer equipment (edison, ultrafex, tube composer, head amp) and I would not hesitate to replace it if it broke; but the primary amp stages I leave to higher shelf gear like sansamp psa 1.1, tlaudio fatman or aphex 230.
