if you have a syncplate, Scope can be wordclock master or slave. a master clock/distributor would be best, but possibly the price may not really be worth the improvement. if the wordclock signal will feed several different devices, you should at least have a distributor or there may be timing issues(if the devices are connected serially). wordclock is not a necessity for a stable clock signal. using adat and s/pdif, the signal should still be stable, assuming that you only have ONE master....

i've never tried that.....try it.

yes, adats are not so stable via 9pin. you are syncing at 48khz, no? adats don't like to sync at any other samplerate.

Just looked at this thread.I nipped this pic from GS.The red worded path is the wrong way The green worded path is the right way...its written in turkish but you will get the idea.

Just a wild guess - maybe one of the devices has auto-terminating wordclock i/o? Might be somewhere in the settings of the devices.

Also did you put a T-piece on the last device and connect the terminator to that as shown in the diagram?

Sounds like you are creating a wc loop.If it works without terminator there could be one already engaged.You should investigate that and check if it really syncs properly.
