I have big problem with it !
After loading programs into STS I noticed (in Task Manager) that XP is using both type of memory - physical (RAM) and virtual (Page File) ?! Is it normal ?? So, when I play (or playback midi notes) the sampler sometimes I hear cracks. When I set polyphony to max STS stops playing ! What's the hell ??
STS memory indicator don't change value on programs load - 507 MB stay - not to much at all ?
My setup:
Win XP Pro
Pulsar II (3.01b)
Intel board (i815E)
PIII 866/133
512 SDRAM (PC 133)

My STS work fine under XP/ACPI. Yes it's normal that it makes kind of backup of RAM on VM, I think. Clicks may have another cause.

WinXP can be nicely tuned, but standard everything is set to 'on', to allow max flexibility and user comfort. Uninstaling stuff, stripping the Services etc. will make it a lot leaner.

Does the STS click or does your whole Pulsar click when you load STS? As I said, I have no problems with it. Only once, when I got BSOD's, but then I was using an older version of STS. I updated it (like Sandrob did) and it caused no more problemoS.

Keep the faith.

Hi Atomic ! (thanks for interest)
As I wrote, I've done every known tweaks !

It's strange but only STS ! Rest of my project works great - even if I set 3ms latency Cubase can record many tracks in 32-bit TrueTape and ZERO dropouts or clicks !
So, when I set above 24 voices in STS (25ms @ 44.1) that stops playing and I must reload it to be able usable.
Tell me, can you set max. polyphony in your STS-3000 ?
Thanks
