Xite vs System 6000
Xite vs System 6000
Does any of you tried system 6000 yet?(mastering or rev/delay) can we compare with Xite-1? is there any possibilities that xite+sfp5 will do something like system 6000? Or system 6000 is a different platform… not for 32bit pc users. I really like to know how much behind we’re… can our programmers can do MD4($995)?
thanks.
thanks.
yes, warp69 : you can count on me when your next baby is ready !!!!!! wink:
As for the system6000, you may refer to the powercore plugin right ? I am deeply convinced that 3rd party developpers for Scope are able to give us all the good reverbs we need at a cheaper price and... with a huge power (compared to the powercore ; i have dropped this solution because of power and latency issues ...) ...

what do you will do with an system 6000 in your home studio?
the Xite is in theory able to the the same , and the system 6000 won't never be able to do what the Xite do..
...as SC will probably never get acces to TC (or Lexicon, more lovely) reverb algorithmes.
for the AD/DA or preamp, anyone now can do great things if he want, and with customer that don't care about price..let SC be paid for the astounding programming stuff they have done, and the nice integration...
just buy an low-cost Lexicon boxe, you will get the nicest reverb algos, and differences in preamp quality won't be eard unless you plug it into a 200000Euro mixing desk...

Hi
I was working on S6000. S6000 is FX box only. Scope is whole studio enviroment integrated with your DAW, or it can be used also as outboard (inside dedicated computer, as S6000). I cannot tell what Scope will able to do, but at the moment "sound" of S6000 ia faaaaaaaar better: especially dynamics and reverbs. It is TRUE SURROUND! With analog IO it has one of thr best ADA converters. S6000 is solid rock stable. Using it is more comfortable (comparing to scope) thanks to external controller.
So scope is more flexibile, but the sound (algorithms, converters, available "modules") is worse. And Scope is not surround.
I think more interesting would be comparing Kyma to Scope...
Regards

great drivers GSIF, ASIO 2
Sorry if I left anything out,......but it's been a long night recording with my inferior equioment.

I find the SC mastering tools very good for my works.
The only external mastering effect that I actual use is an external mastering EQ.
Recently as mastering EQ I've also discovered Har-Bal software: wow!!! A nice tool to control in other way the master frequencies.
My wish is a future 5 bands new version of Optimaster
3 bands are anyway ok for me...it's a good way to mantain me away from exagerate over postproduction tendence.
PSY Q is a imbattible killer!
VINCO a very good software compressor (one of the best in digital domain).
BX_digital is my wish for future...
The real lacks are a good modern maximizer and a limiter (something like L3 or UAD maximizer-limiter)

4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.
I am sure XITE-1's surround mixer and mastering pack will be sufficient.
I have a long way to go still since I always had Producers and Engineers from management to do all of the work.
Sadly I was more interested in composition and only paid minimal attention to the tricks these pros were using.
I am paying for that miscalculation these days.
But Scope and this forum have taught me so much that I should be up to speed very soon.
With DAS hard at work to bring us quality plugs and controllers, I have nothing to worry about.
Olive and Eric are truly dedicated to our platform. They purchased a Radikal controller from me just to try and make Mackie control for Scope devices, etc.
I see that they have gone a step further.
BTW Olive, I think you should not succumb to smaller numbers like " 5000 ". Give the System 6000 a run for their money and call it the " DAS System 7000 ".
I Believe We Are In Good Hands.
