I am a Pulsar II user running with Scope 4.0
I am currently upgrading my PC to an Intel Quad-Core Q6600 machine.
Ideally I want to load in 8Gb RAM and run the Vista Basic 64bit OS. I saw the announcement about Scope 5.0 being compatible with Vista but I'm not sure I'm ready to outlay another 200 euros quite yet.
My question: will Scope 4.0 at least function with the Vista 64bit OS (even if it doesn't run at 64bit itself)?
Does Scope 4.0 function with Vista 64bit?

Don't think so dude...
The drivers that come with v4.0 are the problem, I reckon (software tends to work OK, albeit in 32bit emulation mode — minor performance hit, though with a quad-core/8gb PC, I shouldn't think that'll be a problem.)
What isn't clear, as yet, is whether the Vista-compatible drivers that come with v5 will be available to people who want to run v4.0 (or v4.5) on Vista, without paying for the v5 upgrade. It isn't even known whether the v5 drivers will run in Vista 64 (although I suspect that they will — I think the big hurdle is getting the driver verified, since MS decided not to let unsigned drivers work on Vista at all!)
That's what I've gathered so far... if anyone knows more, perhaps they can enlighten us?
Cheers,
Chris
